　  一个冬天的寒冷的傍晚，一对老夫妇慢慢悠悠地走进了麦当劳。在一群就餐的年轻夫妇当中，他们看上去显得很不协调。　　

食客们都羡慕地看着他们。你可以看出那些羡慕者在想些什么：“瞧，真有这样一对夫妇长期厮守在一起，也许有 60多年了吧!”

　　那位老先生走到收银处，毫不犹豫地点了餐，然后付了钱。老两口在靠墙的一张桌边坐下，从托盘里开始拿起食物吃起来。只有一块汉堡包、一份法式炸土豆条和一杯饮料。老先生打开汉堡包，小心翼翼地将它切成两瓣，把其中一半放在妻子面前。

　　随后，他仔仔细细地数了数炸土豆条，将它们分成两堆，并将其中一堆放在妻子面前。他呷了一口饮料，妻子也呷了口，随后将杯子放在两人中间。

　　老先生还没吃几口汉堡包，人群开始变得不安起来：“可怜的老两口。他们就能买起一份饭呀。”当那位老先生开始吃炸土豆条时，其中一个年轻人站起来，走到老两口的桌边，彬彬有礼地主动要为老两口买一份吃的。老先生回答说这样就很好，他们已经习惯分享所有的一切了。

　　之后，人群注意到那位老太太没吃一口食物。她只是坐在那里望着丈夫吃。偶尔呷几口饮料。那个年轻人又一次走过来，请求老人同意为他们买点儿吃的。这一次，那位老太太解释说不用了，他们已经习惯在一块分享所有的一切了。老先生吃完了，那个年轻人再也无法忍受了。他第三次来到他们的桌边，自告奋勇要给他们买一些食物。在遭到礼貌地拒绝后。他最后向那个老太太问了一个问题：“太太，您为什么不吃呢?您说过你们一起分享所有的一切。那您在等什么呢?”

　　老太太回答说：“牙齿。”

    One cold winter evening, an old couple walked slowly into Macdonald's. They looked out of place amid the young couples eating there.
　　Customers looked admiringly at them. You could tell what the admirers were thinking. "Look, there is a couple who has been through a lot together, probably for 60 years or more!"
　　The old man walked right up to the cash register, placed his order with no hesitation and then paid for their meal. The couple took a table near the wall and started taking food off the tray. There was one hamburger,one order of French fries and one drink. The old man unwrapped the hamburger and carefully cut it in half.He placed one half in front of his wife.
　　Then he carefully counted out the French fries, divided them in two piles and placed one pile in front of his wife.He took a sip of the drink, his wife took a sip and then set the cup down between them.
　　As the man began to eat his few bites of hamburger the crowd began to get restless, "That poor old couple. All they can afford is one meal." As the man began to eat his French fries one young man stood and came over to the old couple's table.He politely offered to buy another meal for the old couple to eat.The old man replied that they were just fine. They were used to sharing everything.
　　Then the crowd noticed that the old lady hadn't eaten a bite. She just sat there watching her husband eating and occasionally takingturnssippingthedrink.Againthe young man came over and begged them to let him buy them something to eat.This time the lady explained that no, they were used to sharing everything together.As the old man finished eating, the young man could stand it no longer. Again he came over to their table and offered to buy some food.After being politely refused again he finally asked a question of the little old lady. "Ma'am, why aren't you eating? You said that you share everything. What is it that you are waiting for?"
　　She answered , "The teeth."
