    1a  Learning English can be difficult. What things are difficult for you? Read the list. Check（√）the statements that are true for you.学习英语一定很难，你的困难是什么呢？请读一读这个表，将符合你的实际的陈述打上（√）。

    知识点1  I make mistakes in grammar. 我总在语法上出现错误。

    【讲解】make a mistake犯错误，mistake可用作可数名词。by mistake表示“由于误会，错误地”。mistake作动词时表示“弄错，误解”。mistake...for...“错把……当作……”的意思。如：

The waiter made a mistake over the bill.服务员把账算错了。

I made a few mistakes in my homework yesterday.昨天的家庭作业中我犯了几处错误。

He took my bag by mistake.他错拿了我的手提包。

    【例1】根据汉语补全句子。

2a  Paul is learning English. Listen and check（√）the learning challenges he talks about.保尔正在学英语。听录音并将他提到的学习挑战打上（√）。

听力材料：

Teacher: You look worried, Paul.

Boy: I am, Ms Mitchell. I’m having trouble learning English.

Teacher: You said you liked English. What’s the problem?

Boy: I can’t get the pronunciation right.

Teacher: Well, listening can help. Why don’t you borrow the teacher’s tapes?

You can listen to them at home and repeat the sentences that are difficult for you.

Boy: That’s a good idea. But what about all the new words? I forget a lot of new words.

Teacher: You can always write the new words in your notebook and study them at home. You can even study in the train on the way to school.

Teacher: Can you understand when people talk to you?

Boy: Well, no. Not always. Sometimes I just don’t understand what people are saying.

Teacher: Why don’t you join an English language club to practice speaking

English? The English club meets after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Boy:Maybe I’ll go. The only other problem I have is that I don’t get much writing practice.

Teacher: Maybe you should find a pen pal.

Boy:That sounds like a fun way to practice writing. Thanks, Ms Mitchell.

why not后面为动词原形。

What/How about后为动词的—ing分词。

    【解答】所提供的问句Why don’t you...? 表示建议，因此①题为not go。②How/What，about。

    拓展归纳:

常用来表达的建议的句式有:

Would you like to do...? 你想做……吗？

Shall we do...?我们做……，好吗？

Let’s do...! 让我们做……吧！

    文化点击：

很多美国人相信积极思考的力量，他们对面临的困难采取的态度是积极地思考，做出主动的反应，而不是去评价事情有多么难，他们不习惯使用消极的词语。他们常常用平和或积极的词语描述面临的困境，所以在美国英语中，challenge常被用来替代problem一词。

    Role play conversations using the information fromactivities 2a and 2b.利用活动2a和2b中的信息表演对话。

知识点3  I don’t have a partner to practice English with.我没有一起练习英语的伙伴。

    【讲解】动词不定式短语to practice English with作定语，修饰中心词partner，由于a partner在逻辑上充当介词with的宾语，所以不定式短语中的介词with不能省略。如：

I want a pen to write with. 我要一支笔用来写字。

They are looking for a hotel to live in. 他们正在找住宿的旅馆。

She had no good friend to talk with. 她没有谈话的好朋友。

    【例3】单项选择

There is no chair for me______.

【解答】题目主要考查了动词不定式的用法，不定式复合结构作定语，修饰中心词chair，逻辑上应是“坐椅子”，因此不定式中的动词sit要带上介词on，正确答案为B。

    【任务设计】英语学习包含发音、词、句、语法等，需要培养的技能包括听、说、读、写等方面的能力。询问你的同伴在哪方面有困难，并提出一些建议帮助他。
