        implication 是imply 的名词形式。有“暗示，意味”的意思。但当你问一个人“你知道你这样做意味着什么吗？” 你的意思是“你知道你这样做的后果是什么吗？”。因此，implication 有“后果，冲击，影响”等意思 （很多字典对于这一点解释得不是很清楚）。下面就是字典里面的例句与汉语翻译。

       The new report has far-reaching implications for the future of broadcasting.

   这一新报告对广播业的前途有些意味深长的暗示.

   这句话更确切得翻译应该是 “这一新报告对广播业的未来将产生深远的影响。”

   确切翻译应该是：她毫无戒心地在信上签了字, 没意识到其后果.
