前几天讲六级时讲到这样一个句子:“And with so much more money floating in the worker's compensation system, it's not surprising that doctors and lawyers have helped themselves to a large slice of the growing pie. (CET-6 2003-1)”这里的 "help oneself to something" 与我们常用的 “Please help yourself to the food.”(请自己用饭菜!), “Help yourself!”,“May I help myself to one of your cigarettes?”
He was too busy helping himself to diamonds to notice any pain. (New Concept English-Lesson 6-Smash-and-Grab)
The money was on the counter and Jack helped himself to it when no one was watching him.
