The Kunqu Opera originated in
Suzhou over 600 years ago and had been very popular
especially during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It has
also been called the mother of all other operas in China.
What's more, it was designated as one of the first batch of world
intangible cultural heritages by UNESCO in 2001.

The area around the Jinji Lake, also called Suzhou Industrial
Park (SIP), is a new part of Suzhou, where a lot of
international-brand hotels, restaurants and bars have been
blossoming in the past over 20 years.

It is a good destination for people to walk, run and go hiking
besides its business function.

Its length around the lake is about 15 kilometers, where the Half
Marathon of Jinji Lake was usually hold every year before the COVID
crisis.

Suzhou has been steeped in long history and rich culture since
it was built over 2500 years ago. You can explore Suzhou by
visiting a classical garden, a museum or an old street, but I
highly recommend you to explore ancient Suzhou by hiking around the
ancient moat ring fitness trail.
From the air, the trail looks like a green necklace of ancient
Suzhou. One side is the city moat and the other side is the ancient
Suzhou itself. It connects almost main attractions like classical
gardens, museums, former residences of celebrities through crooked
lanes or rivers.

Ling-bai route, connecting Lingyan Mountain and Baimajian
scenic spot, is one of the most popular hiking routes in Suzhou,
even more and more people choose to go hiking at night.
It is very close to the downtown of ancient Suzhou, just about
15 kilometers away, and people can get off the metro line 5 at the
Lingyanshan station, take a walk across the street from exit 1, and
then reach the Lingyan Mountain entrance, which is also the
starting point of the Ling-bai hiking route.
I think there are three main reasons people like.

As we know, Suzhou is a very popular tourist destination for
both sightseeing and hiking. In my opinion, there are top 3 typical
hiking routes in Suzhou you can't miss experiencing if you love
hiking.
The 1st hiking route is the ring trail around ancient city
moat of Suzhou with the length of about 16 kilometers. It connects
the ancient Suzhou and city moat, which is one essential part of
the Grand Canal.
Hikers can enjoy beautiful views of the Grand Canal and local
people's daily life, meanwhile, they can learn a lot of histo

Dear my friends, happy April Fool's Day!
The festival of April Fool's Day is one of the most popular
ones in western countries since it was reported that it originated
in France almost 500 years ago.
There are so many festivals in both China and western
countries like Spring Festival, Tomb Sweeping Festival and
Mid-autumn Festival in China, and Christmas, All Saints' Day in the
West. What are big differences between them?
