问：任言老师，请问and连接的主语是不是谓语动词都用复数呢？怎么有时候我做题又碰到单数呢？请赐教啊

答：同学，and连接的主语的确是比较纠结的，因此一定要形成知识体系，不然做题很容易混淆的，由and连接的两个名词或代词做主语的情况：

①The newspaper says that the worker and the writer ______ (be) from Beijing.

②The newspaper says that the worker and writer ______(be) from Beijing.  

③Each doctor and each nurse______(be)given a new shirt.   

☞用法讲解：

句①这部分主语表示的是两个人或两件不同的事物，谓语动词用复数形式,故空格处填 is 。例如：My brother and I have both seen that film.

句②这部分主语表示具有两个身份或性质的同一个人或一个完整的事物，谓语动词用单数形式,这时and 后面的名词前没有冠词。例：The statesman and poet was engaged in warfare all his life. One more knife and fork is needed.

句③这部分主语前面有each, every, many a, no 等修饰时，谓语动词一般用单数形式。例如：Many a boy and girl has made the same mistake.
