BP Bridge Chicago

 由普利茨克建筑奖获奖弗兰克•盖里设计的BP人行桥位于美国芝加哥市，蜿蜒的BP人行桥，以蛇形横跨了主干道哥伦布车道，是芝加哥下城区的重要组成部分。桥梁建设总耗资1500万美元，因由英国能源巨头BP公司提供500万美元赞助费而命名。

The 285 meters BP Pedestrian Bridge, or simply BP Bridge, designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Frank Gehry, is a girder footbridge in the Loop community area of Chicago, United States. Its snakelike shape spans Columbus Drive and become the main part of Chicago. The total construction fee is fifteen million dollars and it is named as BP Bridge because of the five million dollars sponsored by British energy giant BP Company.

BP人行桥的设计，将戴利二百周年纪念广场与千禧公园通连起来，可以极目远眺格兰特公园和密西根湖。桥位处有三个平面空间的跨越。最上一层为BP天桥，走行人；桥下跨越了八个车道的哥伦布大道；最下一层为公共停车场。

The design of BP Bridge connects Daley Bicentennial Plaza with Millennium Park, which makes a good view of Grant Park and Michigan Lake. BP Bridge has crossed three spaces: on the op is the BP Pedestrian Bridge used by pedestrians; under the bridge covers 8 lanes of Columbus Drive; underground is the public parking lot.

桥梁长度285.0米，6.1米宽，桥高4.4米，桥梁主要承重梁为钢箱梁。天桥两旁两个相交坡面引至到桥梁箱形梁的里面外侧，在横桥向上就形成了一个流线型的横向断面；坡面的外侧大量的采用了类似鱼鳞的金属块覆盖，既考虑对街道和露天音乐厅的声音进行了必要的阻隔，又满足了视觉及景观上的要求。

BP Bridge has the length of 285 meters, width of 6.1 meters and height of 4.4 meters. The main bearing material is steel box girders. It uses a concealed box girder design with a concrete base, and its deck is covered by hardwood floor boards. It is designed without handrails, using stainless steel parapets instead. The biomorphic allusions and extensive sculptural use of stainless steel plates for BP Bridge is used to express abstraction, which not only make the necessary blocking for the voice from street and open-air concert hall, but also meet the visual and landscape requirements.
