    刘养锋（1894—1960）名葆锷，养锋为其字，西峰区显胜乡下刘村人。出身耕读世家，赋性聪颖，敏而好学，博闻强记。幼时由祖父教读《三字经》、《千字文》等启蒙读物，临帖习字，寒暑不辍，后入私塾读书。上学第一天，先生戏出“马踏木桥如鼓打”句以试其才，他略加思索，即以“鸡啄铜盆似锣敲”相对，令先生惊叹；又试其字，清秀工整，颇具法度，连呼“神童”，遂执经授义，用意甄陶，成为得意门生。
