由于本科的两门课程（Chemistry and Physics & Astronomy）均为荷兰语授课，中国学生并不能申请。

四门硕士课程，均为英语授课的国际硕士课程，它们是：

• Computational Science
  
• Computer Science
  
• Physics & Astronomy

Six degree programmes of VU Amsterdam and the University of Amsterdam (UvA) are going to be offered as joint degrees. There quest for change in accreditation has been approved by the NVAO, the Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders. This means that,from next year, students who start one of the six programmes will be enrolled at both VU Amsterdam and UvA. When they graduate they will receive a degree certificate from both universities: a joint degree.

The programmes in question are the bachelor’s degrees in Chemistry and Physics & Astronomy and the Master’s degrees in Chemistry, Computational Science, Computer Science and Physics & Astronomy. 

These programmes have been taught by both UvA and VU Amsterdam staff for some years now. The joint degree status will formalise this existing cooperation’,explains Karen Maex, dean of the Faculties of Science of VU Amsterdam and UvA.‘It’s wonderful news, especially for our students. It means from now on all the subjects they do will be shown on their joint degree certificates. That wasn’t possible for the joint programmes until now.’ 

The underlying idea is that combining the institution’s scientific and didactic knowledge as well as their facilities will enrich and enhance the programmes. By joining forces and offering joint programmes the Science Faculties can work with a larger group of staff in the programmes, bringing together their qualities and expertise.
