题目·：in some societies，the role of a mother differs in some ways the roles of a father，why do you think these differences exist? How might the parental role develop in the future ?

It is true that parents play a different role in terms of gener in the family. It is common that a father works as a breadwinner and mother tends to be housewife. There are three reasons to explain why the difference exists.

The main reason might be more relevant to tradition. Some traditional society offers more job opportunities for men and less for women, which hinder women from entering the public. It is alos undeniable that prejudice in gender role still exists in some religious society where women are not allowed to work outside, accounting for such difference. Another reason might be ascribed to their natural traits. Women tend to be more patient, with advantages of taking care of their children and cleaning their house. In comparison, men are more likely to have a competitive edge in many fields such as strength and mechanical and engineering skills. It is these advantages that make them good at working outside and earning a living. Thirdly, the characteristics of economy in some societies are the causes breeding such difference. In a society which is dominated by job positions requiring strong physical strength, men could be favored and women might be deterred. The living pattern might formulate as a result of adaptation to the situation of the society.

However, this style may expect some changes in the future. To begin with, the economic pattern has transformed recently with the development of technology, and the market creates more professional positions which need skills instead of physical force. These opportunities liberate women with a high education from their family.Consequently, women can also be breadwinners. In addition, the attitudes of the public towards gender role have also changed and it is also accepted as appropriate that a father stays at home and takes care of their children if his salary is lower than his wife who takes the responsibility to make money. Besides, an alternative way which means that parents work full-time and send  their children to a child center is also regarded as necessary. In this way, the difference in gender role has become blurred.
