老题目，与犯罪有关。只是题目特指孩子们，而且不仅要写原因，还要写如何惩罚。

范文：

The past decades have witnessed an increasing rate of crimes committed by children. A careful examination shows that there are three reasons accounting for this trend.

One of the main reasons is the wide spread use of illegal drugs and alcohol. Drug dealers take advantage of pupils’ curiosity to attract them to take drugs, and being addictive will push those children to rob the money from their classmates if they are lacking the money. Another concern stems from the current exam-orientated teaching approach without regarding the moral and co-operation spirit cultivation. Putting more emphasis on academic level presents much more pressure on both students and teachers. Teachers tend to neglect the guiding role which help pupils  distinguish right from wrong and good from bad. And those pupils with lower score are more likely to do something unexpected to draw teachers’ attention and even bully their classmates who are valued more by the teacher. They may also take to drugs to escape the unpleasant reality. Finally, influence from video games where violence is used as a way to address the conflict may drive pupils to act the same way in reality. Pressure from studying more than the past deprives them of playing opportunities and the accumulated anger needs to find a way to release, and crimes may be the alternative if they feel too dispirited.

A scientific method should be employed to punish them based on the extent to which the crimes are committed. For pupils addictive to drugs, putting them to a drug treatment center is necessary. For those committing slight crimes, forcing them to do communal activities such as cleaning the classroom and corridors may be a sensible way. Evidently, those criminals who committed a serious crime such as hurting people to disability should be sentenced to prison, which may guarantee the safety of the rest of the world on the one hand, on the other hand they must be punished and deprived of freedom  to make them reflect the suffering they brought about, and it is also a relief for victims and and a symbol of justice as well as a deterrent to other potential criminals.

Overall, many reasons are responsible for the increasing crime rate and transforming them into a good member of our society needs more than punishing them. Concentrating on eradicating the roots of crime is as important as the punishement.
