本节课翻译的片段是：

《遗爱亭》

地所生，

有草木。

此植物，

遍水陆。

有虫鱼，

有鸟兽。

此动物，

能飞走。

这是出自《三字经》的第二十六章，语言朴实，简单易懂。大概意思为： 有根在地里生长的，叫植物。植物既可以长在地里也可以长在水里。能飞能跑的鸟兽虫鱼都是动物。翻译时若想表达出原意让目的语读者理解并不困难，最重要的问题是：如何在Form和Meaning兼顾的前提下，做到proper words in proper places.

译文1：

What the Earth bears, is grass and trees.

These floras earth bears, cover all its surface.

There're insects ad fishes, also birds and beasts.

These are called animals, which fly or run.

My Version:

On the ground grow grasses and trees.

These plants cover the land and water.

There are insects and fish;

there are birds and beasts.

All these are called animals, which can fly or run.

译本1采用的是四字格，在语意层面上达意，但在形式方面与原文的三字格形式略有不符。folra and fauna（植物和动物），但flora一词的选用与原文语体似乎不符。植物一词的表达方式有很多，如plant、vegetation和flora，此处用plant更为贴近原文。此外，译文1在意义表征上，贴近了原文，但是却未能押韵，未能形神兼备。

相比较我的译文较简洁，改变了原文三字格的形式，大意也表述的较为清楚，但同样未做到形神兼备。老师提到了abcb和aabb的押韵格式。和几名同学讨论后，对译文做出了比较大的改动：

Grass and trees,

Grows on earth.

These plants needs

Water and soil.

Fish and insects,

Birds and animals,

These creatures cry,

Run or fly.

赵译：

Earth makes good

Grass and wood.

These plants command

Water and land.

Fishes and birds,

Worms and herds.

These creatures cry,

Run or fly.

赵老师在译本中“good”、“command”与“cry”，这三个词语的应用不仅将原文中的隐含意义表征出来，还将事物拟人化，更大程度上实现了押韵。全文没有出现大词，难词，读起来确实朗朗上口！老师的译文简洁，押韵完全，选词恰当，这才是真正的Proper words in proper places.

在翻译中，译者就应该正确选词，需仔细斟酌，才能创造出更好的译作。
