拉宾德拉纳特·泰戈尔（Rabindranath Tagore，1861年5月7日—1941年8月7日），印度诗人、文学家、社会活动家、哲学家和印度民族主义者。代表作有《吉檀迦利》《飞鸟集》《眼中沙》《四个人》《家庭与世界》《园丁集》《新月集》《最后的诗篇》《戈拉》《文明的危机》等。

泰戈尔的诗歌具有丰富的内容 :对人生的思索 ,对爱情的追求 ,描写童真童趣 ,表达对穷苦人民的同情和爱国主义、国际主义思想等。

 

1、Live Yourself as a Light把自己活成一道光

 

Live yourself as a light,

Because you don't know,

Who by thy light,

Out of the darkness.

把自己活成一道光，

因为你不知道，

谁会借着你的光，

走出了黑暗。

Keep the goodness in your heart,

Because you don't know,

Who would take advantage of your kindness,

Out of despair. 

请保持心中的善良，

因为你不知道，

谁会借着你的善良，

走出了绝望。

Keep faith in your heart,

Because you don't know,

Who would take your faith,

Out of the confusion.

请保持你心中的信仰，

因为你不知道，

谁会借着你的信仰，

走出了迷茫。

Trust in your own power,

Because you don' t know,

Who would believe in you,

I began  to believe in myself…

Keep the confidence in your heart,

Because you don't know,

There are people who believe in you,

I began to be confident and self-reliant.

Anytime, anywhere, under any circumstances,

Don't forgetThe dreams I keep in my heart,

Not only did I let myself

Out of darkness and despair and confusion,

More people have to believe it

2、Patience 忍耐

 

If you speak not

I will fill my heart with the silence and endure it.

I will keep still and wait

like the night with starry vigil

and its head bent low with patience.

如果你不说话，

我将用你的沉默填满心房，并忍受它。

我将静静地等候，

像黑夜中彻夜不眠的星星，

忍耐的低首。

The morning will surely come,

the darkness will vanish,

and the voice pour down in golden streams

breaking trough the sky.

黎明一定会到来，

黑暗终将逝去，

你的声音将注入金泉，

划破天空。

Then the words will take wing

in songs from every one of my birds’ nest,

and thy melodies

will break forth in flowers in all my forest groves.

那时你的语言，

将在我的每一个鸟巢中生翼发声，

你悦耳的曲子，

将怒放在我的丛林繁花中。
