  浮香绕曲岸，圆影覆华池。木化石园盛大的荷塘里，荷叶田田挤满荷塘，如伞、如盖、如毯、如裙，绿意满塘，呈现出生机盎然的景象。在荷塘中，多姿多彩的荷花正次第开放，有的才露尖尖角、有的盛开怒放、有的则花谢凋零只剩莲蓬，荷花的整个“生命旅程”一览无余。

   江南水街、长沙园、武汉园、苏州园、宁波园以及沿途的观赏路边，盆栽、精致的园林小品的荷花，或零零散散或挤挤挨挨，有的隐约于翠绿荷叶间，有的倒映于碧水中，袅娜多姿展现各自的芳容。“水之韵荷花池”里喷泉与荷花相应景，自然水系、颇具江南水乡特色的建筑与荷塘相得益彰，意境悠长。

       荷塘芳香荡漾，清荷立于水中央。许多市民游客纷至沓来观赏，有的女孩穿着古风服装、摆着不同的姿势在荷塘边留影，宛如“荷花仙子下凡”来，不少游客手拿手机、摄像机玩转于荷塘边，赏花、拍花、摄影，乐此不彼，流连忘返。
