一、给建议类

1.假定你是李华，你的美国笔友Allen下个月要参加全美高中生汉语演讲比赛，他来信询问你如何写一篇精彩的汉语演讲稿。请你根据下列要点给Allen回一封信。

Dear Allen,

I’m very happy to know that you are going to take part in the American High School Students Chinese Speech Contest. And it’s my great honor to give you some advice on how to write a good speech in Chinese.

First of all, a good beginning is quite necessary. Because you can catch the audience’s attention and interest if you can begin your speech in a lovely and interesting way. For example, you can begin your speech with a Chinese proverb or a famous quotation. That way, the audience will think you have a good knowledge of the Chinese culture.

Besides, make your speech as convincing as possible. To do this, you had better give some vivid examples or your personal experiences, which can say much more than comments.

Last but not least, do some proofreading after you finish your text to avoid as many mistakes as you can.

    First of all, it is important to take a Chinese course, where you’ll be able to learn from the teacher and practice with your fellow students. What’s more, it also helps to watch TV and read books, newspapers and magazines in Chinese whenever possible. In addition, it would be better if you could learn and sing Chinese songs because by doing so you’ll learn and remember Chinese words more easily. Last but not least, you can also make more Chinese friends, who will tell you a lot about China and help you learn Chinese

      I’m glad to know that you are going to run an “ After-school Class” near our school for students to learn English together and I think it’s a good idea to do so. Now I’m writing to share with you some of my advice about it.

      First of all, you’d better focus on the learners’ ability to speak English. In fact, most of Chinese students’ ability to speak English is quite low. You know, more and more students choose to study abroad after they graduate from middle school, and it’s just because they want to study English in a real English culture. So it’s nice for them to be with a native speaker. As for the students’ level, I think Senior 3 students can be more interested, because they have a strong desire to learn more about the culture of other countries, making good preparations for work. And there are some other things you need to consider, such as the tuition, the length of the course and so on.

How to learn English well

Not long ago, I won the first prize in the English competition held in our school. Now I’m writing to share some of my learning skills.

In my spare time, I regularly take part in the English corner, where I can express myself freely and learn what can’t be learned from books. What’s more, it is of great benefit to keep diaries every day because not only can it help you to form a good habit of studying English but also it can improve your writing ability and skills. Most importantly,  I often surf on an English website—Enjoy Reading, in which it offers the latest news, reading materials and so on. All of these have enriched my knowledge and enlarged my horizons.

        Of course, everyone has his own method of learning, so I hope the experience of mine will be helpful, useful and beneficial to your English study.
