Being a student in college can not only learn something about your major knowledge, but also can learn something about how to live your life effectively and happily. During my four college years, I have learned a lot of things and I appreciate the life in university. The life in university is an essential time in my life.

      Let me illustrate: firstly, as an English major student in college, I learned something new about English, like English and American culture , linguistics, and translation. I have a deeper understanding about English itself than what I was known before. The range of English is very huge and I should learn more to understand it well. Learning English cultivate my ability of listening, reading and thinking. Secondly, during my four college years, I knew many friends and teachers. They taught me a lot of things which will be useful in my life. I learned from them that I must lead my life in an optimistic way and try my best to do everything well. Friendship is very important in everyone’s life, so am I. I met many new friends from different places. Though we have some different views or hobbies, we are cherish each other and live together happily. I think I was so lucky to meet them in college. Thirdly, university lives bring me a king of thought—“believe yourself and never give up !” . as we all know that  confidence is very important in our daily life and it can bring us courage to face difficulties. During my college years, I took part in many kinds of activities and these exercise me in many aspects. I believe these will be very meaningful in my later times. I can deal with kinds of conditions well with my courage and confidence learned by college.

     Another lesson given by college is perseverance. Whenever I want to give up, “never give up” like a beacon in my heart illustrate my way and encourage me to make a progress and help me solve many problems in my life.

     All above these are what I have learned from my university years. These are extremely important and meaningful in my life. Four years in university may not be a very long time to go through, but the influence from university will be long lasting. What I have learned from university years can help me doing well in my future lives.
