人生因梦想而美丽，做同学们的忘年交

前言

       韩云瑞，西交利物浦大学数理中心老师。他长期工作在西浦教育第一线，十年如一日地在办公室为同学们答疑，无论是否是他的学生，他都面带笑容地为同学们悉心讲解，并给予学习上生活上的帮助。他浇灌着着一批又一批西浦的精英，用无私奉献诠释着他对自己职业的敬意。

采访实录

       从清华来到西浦，环境变了，教学模式变了，但韩老的教育理念仍然不变，研究数学几十余年，他希望教给学生的数学，是从复杂到简单，抽象变具体的数学。虽然数学的定理与内容会空洞乏味，但韩老的课堂却充满活力，就像他自己说的：“我喜欢课堂互动，这样才能真正了解学生。”

       韩老的每节课堂，教室里都坐满了学生，期待着韩老的授课。从他们的口中，韩老为人和蔼可亲，授课时将数学形象化，即便是空洞乏味的知识，他们也体悟到别样的乐趣，而且韩老对他们要求较高，在期中考试后更用几句诗表达了他对学生现状的不满与未来的期待。除了授课时间，韩老都一直呆在办公室里投入到数学的研究中，甚至于周末的空闲时间，有时候都能从门外看到端坐着的韩老。经常有学生来答疑求解，即便不是以自己的答疑时间，即便不是自己熟悉的面孔，韩老都表示欢迎，在认真听完学生的陈述后，不仅为学生答疑解惑，还对学生的学习方法提出了建议，让西浦学子感动不已。这就是韩老，教师两字对于他而言，不仅仅是谋生的职业，更是一种事业，一种对知识的探索，一种对教育的奉献。除了课堂的交流，从死记硬背教育模式走来的韩老更加注重教育方式的改革，他希望用新新模式与学生交朋友。当他了解到学生们都热衷于人人的网络平台时，他也注册了一个账号，时常发表一些日志分享他自己的经验，比如最近课堂的难点，他以前优秀学生的经验以及自己想对学生说的心里话，而他的日志下面总会有许多学生留言，他也悉心给出了自己的回答。韩老笑称同学们的活力使他年轻，让他对新事物充满信心，人人更是一个他与学生交流的新平台。他也欣然接受“潮爷爷”的称号，现在的他对生活充满追求，好奇心与进取心与年俱增。

       韩老上学期曾因病去北京疗养，同学们都比较担心他的身体，但其实，韩老自从来了西浦以后，精神更加抖擞了。韩老笑称在西浦他有更多的课余时间去运动了，他经常在周末去打乒乓球，这样他就能保持年轻的活力，不输每一届的新生了。但更多的时间，韩老喜欢把自己交给书，不仅仅是关于专业的数学书，还有一些充满人文气息的书，韩老说一个好的老师就要有文化气质，充满内涵，这样才能多方位地解答同学们的问题，也能让学生收获更多。特别是与一些优秀西浦学子的交流中，他还能保持一种特有的人文气息，让同学们钦佩不已。

后记

       短短半个小时就结束了与韩老的对话，但这次经历真的十分难忘，耳畔还回响着韩老所说的“人有梦想就会有追求，心态才会年轻，才会正能量满满地面对生活。”老骥伏枥，志在千里，一个老者对生活还充斥着希望，对梦想还坚定着方向，那青春年少的西浦学子又有什么理由不勇往直前，追梦扬帆呢？！无论风吹雨打，韩老都在办公室里等着每一位逐梦者，聆听他们的倾诉，告诉他们希望就在前方，真正的快乐是在砥砺前行后看到最美的艳阳。

Young Senior, Professor Han

      Professor Han Yunrui has recently been nominated as one of the alternators for the Inspiring XJTLU for his patience and understanding and for the efficient teaching style in class.

      We XJTLU Students News Centre interviewed Professor Han at his office on the morning of April 10th, 2013. Professor Han gave us an impression of amiability and humility. He welcomed us warmly and after some pleasant talk, we get down to our interview. The convention started with the question” how does Professor Han think of the word “teacher””. In his point of view, he regards teaching as a life-long career rather than a kind of job. He treats students like old friend, instead of being a teller, he hopes to be a guider or consultant and encourage students to study on their own initiatives. Though being a math teacher, he welcomes all kinds of questions, not only about math, but everything that students interested in. He would like to be a listener that can help students go through the puzzling times and is always willing to give a patient ear to every student who would like to share his worries. He thinks that student is not the only one who would benefit from this kind of communication, so do the teachers. He took himself as an example in that because of the interflow with youngsters in XJTLU, he again gained a mental age as the young man.

      Out of the class, Professor Han has a catholic taste for literature. His readings mainly cover eastern and western history and he is used to writing some small articles and sending them online. Apart from reading, he also has sports during extracurricular activities, such as ping pong.

      Apart from a good teacher, Professor Han also been seen as a “young“ senior for, despite his age, he is young at heart. We asked him how was he able to do so. He concluded that the reason for staying young is that to keep goals and never stop tracing it as the saying goes” a man is not old until regrets take the place of dreams”. Besides, the energetic students in XJTLU also give him a positive effect.

      When we came to why he chose XJTLU to start a new journey here, he explained that XJTLU has a brand new teaching style that differs from most of the other universities in China. He was attracted by the new teaching theory here. He added that XJTLU has offered tutors with great freedom on teaching methods and content. This has inspired teachers’ passion on their work. Finally, he mentioned that in XJTLU there has been a much closer relationship between students and teachers than any other universities that he has once been in. He values the friendship with students and always enjoys the communication with them.

      Then we invited him to give some advice to the student in year 1. “Establishing a clear goal,” he said, “is the primary task”. He hoped that the freshmen in year one could each set their own steady purpose and fight for it. He also emphasized the importance of enhancing their International Competitive Power and increasing work efficiency. He said that the joy of success could be permanent only when it is to be gained after hard work. 

      Finally, Professor Han told us that he has noticed Inspiring XJTLU before and highly complementary about this activity for it encourages positive energy. We appreciated his kindness and hoping his positive attitude towards life and enthusiasm to his career could encourage the young dream-seekers in XJTLU.
