This is a wonderful book, both in content and form, subverting and consciously subverting the European poetry writing model followed by American poets. Although it has been controversial since its publication, it has always been regarded as a symbol of the origin of American poetry and is one of the most important collections of poems in world literature in the 19th century. This book is rich in content. Historians see American history in the 19th century, thinkers see Americans' expression of the concepts of democracy, freedom and equality, and philosophers see the belief that everything has a soul and an immortal soul.
