杨怀志，安徽寿县人，一九三九年生，高级美术师，中国书法家协会会员，省书法家协会三届理事。六安市书法家协会主席，六安市政协书画社社长，六安市人大法制工作者书画协会名誉会长，六安市老年书法联谊会副会长，六安市书画院艺术顾问，江苏昆山市迦南书画院名誉院长。作品多次参加全国和省内外书法展览并入选《国际书法集》《中日联展作品集》《中国著名书法家咏赏山》《全国书法名家大禹颂作品集》《中国著名书法家墨迹》等数十部大型丛书，书法作品多次在《中国书法》《书法》《书法之友》书法报、书法导报、中国书画报上发表。书法导报、安徽日报、中央电视台、安徽电视台作过专题介绍，作品曾被多家博物馆收藏。不少作品被带到日本、新加坡、韩国、泰国、香港等作为重要物品赠送。多次参加中日书法联展。
九十年代，先后由安徽美术社出版发行的由沈鹏题名韩美林作序的二本《杨怀志书法作品集》，受到省内外同行和书法爱好者的一致好评。其书法艺术被载入中国和安徽书法艺术名人录。
