One Day at Horrorland

I read the book One Day at Horrorland this week. There were many characters, like Clay, Mike and so on. The book talked about a family playing in the theme part all day. Finally they found out the truth, this was a Horrorland.

Luke, Lizzy and Clay played in the theme park until it was late. At first, they decided to go to a zoo, but their dad couldn’t find the way. In that case, they just had fun in the park. They played some scary projects like sliding. You would choose one place during sliding, Underworld or Keep going? Then they played the mirror game. Many spiders they thought were not real came on to their arms and legs. As soon as they went out of the mirror game, they tried to find their parents. They asked the Horrors, the staff working in the park where their parents were. The Horrors gave them the most unbelievable answer and went away. They said their parents were all gone and left them a message with only two words, good bye.

The three children felt a little bit weird and worried. Suddenly their parents appeared and tried to take them out of this stupid and boring theme park. When they went to the exit, many Horrors told them the park was closed. They couldn’t go out or come in. They were very angry. All of a sudden, they found that all the Horrors came forwards them with an evil smile on their faces. The Horrors said that the family were all caught by TV cameras and shown on TV. Then the family members went to the only exit which was full of dangers like bears or wolves. But to everyone’s surprise, they survived.

A Horror suggested that the family should be thrown into the river and die. Lizzy couldn’t wait any longer and he grabbed one Horror’s face and shouted, “Take off you mask and let me see who you are.” Then he came to know these horrors were real monsters, not human beings. The monsters didn’t want the family to leave this time. They thought out many ways to make the family die. Lizzy remembered Horrors once told them not to pinch anything. Maybe pinching was what he could do on Horrors, that is, to make them out of air. Then Lizzy caught an approaching Horror, and pinched it. The monster deflated, losing energy and power. Yes, it’s the only chance for the family to escape.

The family ran away from the park and drove home quickly. When they got home, a Horror ran to them in a hurry and said sadly, “I forgot to give you all the free tickets for next year.”
