Covering an area of 24 square km,the Yin ruins at Xiaotun Village 2.5 km northwest of Anyang city was the site of an ancient capital city 3,000 years ago.the Yin ruins was beside the Huan river,the mother river of Anyang people.In order to protect the cultural  relics, the Yin ruins was listed as the world hertige by UNESCO in  7.14 2006

In  ancient times Xiaotun was called Yin which the King-pan geng of the Shang dynasty moved his capital from Qufu(Shan dong province) to YIn( Anyang). As a caiptal for 273 years,it saw 12 kings of 8 generations. the period was called the Yin Shang,YIn it refer to Anyang, Shang it refer to Shang dynasty,the 2 dynasty in Chinese history. the city declined after the Yin had been overthrown and remains of the Shang Dynasty was later called the Yin ruins.
The YIn Ruins is famous for three aspcet, the oracle inscriptions, the bronze wares and the ancient capital of the Shang dynasty. in 1961 the Yin Ruins was listed as the first group of cultural relics under state-level protection.In order to prevent it from further damage and preserve the culture it represents,Garden of the Yin Ruins was built on the site of the ruins in 1987.the whole garden is skillfully designed and built on the original site. All the buildings in the garden are built on rammed terraces with that ched ,double-eaved roofs.the rafters and beams are decorated with fine carvings of dragon,cicada and other animals.the main entrance to the garden is a special designed gate built the shape like the words "gate" was written on tortoise shells.the gate was finely carved with beautiful dragon,phoenix,tiger,cicada and taotie(one of dragon`s son ), on the top of the gate is an inscribed board with the characters,"Garden of the Yin Ruins"written by Mr.Zhou Gucheng,a famous historian in China.the museum is divided into several sections with the unearthed objects  on display.

ok,let`s first come to see a female general-Fuhao who was the King  of the Wuding`s wife.


Hosted by two YinShang archaeologists Zheng zhenxing and Chen zhida, Fuhaotomb was explored in 1976, which was listed to Ten Great Achievements of Archaeology at nation level of that year. The Fuhao tomb is situated to thesouthwest of the base of Group Bing, and it is one of the most important archaeological discoveries in the Yin Ruins Palace ancestor temple area since1928. Besides, this tomb is the only well-preserved imperial tomb of ShangDynasty.The lengths of it from north to south and from west to east are 5.6meters and 4 meters respectively, and the tomb is 7.5 meters deep. The templeis named Muxinzong.

Fuhao Temple
After the death of Fuhao, the king WuDing had the temple built to offersarifices to her.Because the temple title of Fuhao is X
in,the temple on hergrave was named "Muxinzong" according to the divination. The buildingis the restored Muxinzong's remains.

The Earliest Female General ofChina-Fuhao Jade Statue
The Fuhao Jade Statue standing in front of Fuhao temple, is carved according tothe concerned materials. Look, with shining eyes, and buckle on armour , itshows us the heroic bearing and charm of the first female general of theancient China . The dragon-veined copper Yue, which she is holding, is theweapon she used, and it is 8.5 kg  weight.the other tiger-veined Yue is 9 kgram weight, Seen from. the heavy weapons she used ,we can say that Fuhao mustbe bold and brave. Axes and Yue were mainly used in the army in ancient times,and Yue symbolized military commanding stand and monarchical power.buried together with her were many slaves and war prisoners as well as 1928 pieces of sacrificial objects. tomb fo Fu Hao is the only well-preserved tomb unearthed so far in the Yin Ruins. the lage numbers of sacrificial objects are valubale cultural relics in the treasure house of Chinese art.Ok let get in and have a look!

ok,every one now let visit the China's earliest specimen of carriage and the earliest remains of paths
---  Carriage and horse's pit

The animal energy's carriage is the most used on land vehicle for the primitive people. We have excavated the carriages for many times. Those carriages have already had a shaped structure. It's a quite long period between their making time and the first invented time. From the historic records o fancient, as early as Xia dynasty the carriage has been invented, but till now we haven't found its relics. The carriage and horse's pit excavated from YinRuins is the earliest specimen of animal energy's carriage. From this, we can prove that China is one of the civilized countries, which invented and used carriage.

The 6 carriage and horse's pits and the remains of paths showed in this museum are excavated by Anyang's archeological excavation teamand archeological research of China society and science institution, Anyang branch from the northern field and southern field of Family Liu's village and eastern field of Xiaoming Tun. The remains of paths were found at the Anyang'sgliding school. These well-preserved pits have the significant value inresearch work and exhibiting. In each pit, 5 pits buried carriage with two horses, 4 pits buried carriage with one person. From test ifies, the buried persons were mainly matured males including one young man. Research work has proved that the carriage of Yin dynasty is fantastic one with beautiful design,fasten structure, delicate appearance, speedy revolving, balanced gravity center and comfortable seats. The pits show many aspects not only the civilizedlevel of animal energy's carriage but also the funeral system of burying slaves. It is just like a mimic history book to all of us.

okay, every one! attention please ,now i will show you the  Yin Ruins' Inscriptions on Oracles-The Earliest Ancesto
r of Chinese Characters
The inscriptions on oracles of Yin ruins are the divination records of Yin royal court and the earliest mature Chinese characters known at present. The inscriptions on oracles are called the earliest archives in ancient China Till now 160,000 pieces of oracles and 4,500 characters have been found, which contain substantial content and deal with awide range of the social life in Shang dynasty. The content is connected with politics, military affairs, culture, social customs, astronomy, calendar andmedicine. According to 1,500 characters, which have been recognized, the inscriptions have possessed six ways of making characters and revealed the particular charm of Chinese characters.

let`s come to the main hall where the oracle inscriptions are exhibited.the oracle inscriptions were first discovered here in the 25th year of emperor Guangxu of the Qing dynasty (1899 A.D.) An officer named Wang Yirong first found out that its an old characters. then 15 important archaeological excavations were carried within ten years(from 1928-1936 ).more than 160000 pieces of shells and bones with inscriptions were found. As the earliest characters,the inscriptions marked a recorded history of nearly 4000 years in China.they were used as divinations in the Shang dynasty when people then were very superstitioous. the contents of these inscriptions cover wide fields,such as sacrifice,wars,state affairs to weather,hunting,etc. and proivde important information for the study of the Shang society. today the study of the oracle inscriptions has become a new science and is getting popular with more and more people. 

The Yin Ruins was not only famous for the characteers,but also for bronze wares. now,follow me,I will show you a museum about the bronze wares jade carving and pottery objects,they are all beautiful in shape and well made.
