1. Be a part of the team!

Strong Sports Programming
Everyone gets to play at Sacred Heart! The school offers a wide range of sports and extra-curricular activities in its elementary and high school environments. A comprehensive Physical Education programme in both elementary and high school is an important component of a Sacred Heart education.
Both high schools offer a wide range of team sports including hockey, field hockey, basketball, soccer, badminton and volleyball, as well as cross-country and tennis. Our teams compete with other independent schools and with city league schools. Students can also hone their skills by participating in a broad range of intramural sports offered throughout the year.
At Sacred Heart, we have a place for the athlete with a commitment to the team. Our teams are competitive and we congratulate SHSH teams that have recently won City and Provincial Championships and individual team members that have set Provincial Records in Swimming and Track and Field events.
2.Graduate with a diploma in your hand and the world at your feet

University Preparation
Nearly 100% of Sacred Heart graduates go on to a university education. We ensure their success by providing University Preparation for all students, starting with a senior high orientation session in Grade 9. Students are encouraged to plan for their future, listening and learning from senior high students and recent graduates about how they can start preparing for their post-secondary years. Students are supported in developing a strong and well-rounded résumé through leadership and volunteer experience, with the understanding these are essential if students want to be considered for any substantial university scholarships or awards in their Grade 12 year.
In Grade 11, students write PSAT exams to give them an opportunity to experience lengthy multiple choice testing. Their scores show how they compare with college-bound students at their grade level. Students receive results individually, with an opportunity to discuss their strengths and limitations.
Once in Grade 12, students have a compulsory University Preparation course for one period each week. Individual counselling and ongoing guidance is also provided on a regular basis. Sacred Heart graduates are encouraged to apply for scholarships, bursaries and awards.
Overall, students leave Sacred Heart fully equipped to engage in a successful and fulfilling post-secondary academic experience.
3.Nuture your passion for the arts
http://s15/mw690/a797e9edtd40307c078ae&690
Sacred Heart’s exceptionally strong fine arts programme develops
students with outstanding ability to speak in public and perform.
Many of our extracurricular activities are designed to hone public
speaking and performance skills, helping your child attain a degree
of sell-confidence that will support their academic and
professional careers their entire lives.
Our Musical Theatre programme is akin to a musical adventure! In addition to weekly choral sessions, students sing and perform in lively and entertaining performances combining the best of theatre and music. Past productions include Leaf and the Lily Pad (Grade 2-3), 101 Dalmatians (Grade 4-6) and The Drowsy Chaperone (Grade 7-12).
Combining ensemble and harmony singing, our Choral musical presentations (Grade 7-12) include an Advent Service of Readings and Carols, and a Spring concert. We offer girls' and boys' liturgy choirs, while our all-girls choral group and co-ed choir regularly perform at public venues, including the Festival of Trees.
Sacred Heart's got rhythm! Our Band offers three levels of instruction - Beginner (Grade 6), Intermediate (Grade 7) and Senior Band (Grade 8-12). Plus, both high schools have a house band and there's even a Jazz Ensemble.
Budding thespians will be delighted to know the Fall Drama production is a highlight of the school year. Last year, students produced the comedy A Midsummer Night's Dream. Past productions include Cyrano and Charlie's Aunt.
Students wishing to improve their oratory skills will enjoy our Public Speaking Progamme (Grade 7-12). For boys, there is an Oratory Class, while girls have the option of the Barat Reading Competition and the Concours d'art oratoire (in French).
And for those looking to learn the line art of persuasion or be
part of a competitive team, we have an active Debating club (Grade
6-12). Our club participates in many local and national
tournaments, including University of Toronto, Queen's University,
McGill University and Canadian Nationals. Sacred Heart is also a
member of the Debate Association of New England Independent
Schools, and we host the Donahoe Cup, one of the largest high
school tournaments in Canada.
