The leaders
or directors of organizations are often older people. But some
people say that young people can also be a leader. Do you agree or
disagree?

that young people should hold positions of power in the government,
others disagree. Explain both sides of the argument and explain
your personal preference.

一个说是organizations里面身居高层,另一个说是在government担任要职,背景略有不同,但核心还是考查
the young vs the old 的各自优势,旧题论点论据稍微变通一下即可对此题作答。
很明显,老年人和年轻一辈是各具优势,就看你如何从能胜任领导一职这一角度去分析各自的长处了。担任高层领导,无非是需要全局观、眼光长远、考虑周全、责任感强、逆商低调不动士气是无法带领团队的。领导的责任是是把握方向、规划愿景并鼓动下属们跟着他好好干。所以,从一定程度上说,老一辈确实有优势。
但话又说回来,年轻人也不是一无是处,敢于革新、尝试接受新理念、精力充沛等这些都是他们的长处。另外,胸有抱负、勤奋努力、抓住机会在各种活动中主动锻炼自己领导能力并展示自己某一领域潜力的年轻人确实值得鼓励。

It is not uncommon for large organizations to
have elderly people as senior management
team. However, there is a belief that young people should
also be given opportunities to exercise
leadership. Personally I agree with this
view.
Admittedly, having elderly people as leaders
or directors in organizations bring various benefits. First, there
is no denying that the old have rich
experience in management and tend to have big-picture thinking and long-term vision. They
are more considerate when it comes to making important decisions
and therefore can drive things in the right
direction. Besides, compared to young people, the old generation is generally
more persevere and
strong-willed when facing adversity. This
is particularly vital for
emerging companies, since competition is
increasingly fierce in today’s commercial
society. By contrast, the young generation is immature and many are
often spoilt and less responsible. If they are granted senior
positions, they may make impulsive
decisions due to lack of experience and the future of a
company is likely to be at
risk.
However, admitting the defects of young
people does not mean they have no advantages and are
not eligible for leadership. To begin
with, young people are more creative and receptive to new ideas. For a company or an
organization, fresh blood is always in
need in order to keep the management team more innovative and productive. In addition, young
people who have great passion in leadership should be encouraged to
take important positions. Some new graduates, for example,
have developed leadership
skills through various extra-curriculum activities or
social practices and showed their potential in
certain fields before they left campus. After several years'
service and experience accumulation in workplace, they deserve
more challenging
tasks and holding top positions is an
effective way to tap into their leadership
potential.
My
view is that despite lack of experience, young people should be
encouraged to be leaders and take
more responsibilities. In order to
make up for their shortcomings
and fulfill their missions, related
training before they exercise leadership and mentoring programs by the old generation at
