基于许渊冲“三美”翻译标准的《春晓》英文译

【摘要】《春晓》是唐代诗人孟浩然的著名诗歌之一。《春晓》的译本很多,从许渊冲的三美翻译标准进行判断,徐忠杰的翻译版本不仅在声音方面很美,而且在形式上整齐,同时最大限度地翻译出了原文的意境。

一、孟浩然诗歌《春晓》概述
孟浩然是唐代著名诗人,其早年隐居在鹿门山中。这首诗就是孟浩然隐居在鹿门山之时所做。诗中描述作者在美美的睡了一觉之后,不知不觉中天就亮了。作者醒来是因为他听到到处都是鸟的叫声,令人心情舒畅。回想起昨夜,作者听到了风声和雨声。早晨看到了落了一地的花瓣,作者不禁觉得非常的可惜。诗作原文如下:
春晓
春眠不觉晓,处处闻啼鸟。
夜来风雨声,花落知多少。
二、《春晓》英文译本的比较研究
古诗《春晓》韵律优美、意境深远,被很多知名的专家和学者所翻译。其中,比较著名译本如下:

许渊冲认为诗歌的翻译应该遵循“三美”标准。所谓的“三美”是指音美、形美和意美。“音美”是指诗歌的翻译要符合原诗的押韵规律,尽量翻译出原文在声音方面的美感。“形美”是指翻译后的译文诗歌要和原文诗歌在形式上保持一致,就本诗来说,本诗为四行,翻译后的作品最好也是四行。“意美”是指翻译后的意境要和原诗的意境保持最大程度的等同。诗歌之所以美主要在于诗歌所创造的意境。许渊冲先生认为诗歌的翻译过程中,最应该注重的是“意美”,如果诗歌的翻译没有体现出原文的意境,这种翻译注定是失败的。按照许渊冲先生的“三美”原则,译本1、3 和4、5运用了押韵并且基本保持了四行的形式,因此具备了音美和形美的要求。其它几个译本要么在形式上译成了散文,要么译成了自由诗,它们的形式和音律与原古诗相去甚远。从意美的标准去看,译本3 和4 是外国人所译,由于其对中国文化的陌生,其翻译的文本没有最大限度体现出原诗的意境。译本5 从意境的角度来看,最大限度地体现了原诗的意境。综上所述,按照许渊冲的三美原则,译本5 的翻译应属上乘。
