英文翻译练习：My Papa’s Waltz - Theodore Roethke
这首由芮德格这首(Theodore Roethke)由芮德格创作的短诗常被人从截然不同的角度解读：一派人认为这首诗是回忆与酒醉父亲起舞嬉闹的往事，另一派人则 认为这是用戏谑的比喻来描述嗜酒父亲的家暴过程。
个人比较喜欢第一种解释，也觉得较为合理。在这首诗中，嬉闹的父子把厨房弄得一塌糊涂，母亲在一旁蹙眉生闷气。虽然父子舞步跌跌撞撞且偶有失误，彼此却享受著一段难得的亲密时刻。

My Papa’s Waltz

The whiskey on your breath
Could make a small boy dizzy;
But I hung on like death:
Such waltzing was not easy.
你呼出的威士忌，

We romped until the pans
Slid from the kitchen shelf;
My mother’s countenance
Could not unfrown itself.

Was battered on one knuckle;
At every step you missed

Then waltzed me off to bed
