Abstract
This thesis is written from the viewpoint of initiation, mainly analyzing the theme of female initiation of the novel Little Women. Initiation is a kind of cultural phenomenon that exists universally in human lives. It provides infinite imagination space for literature, and it becomes an eternal topic of literature. Little Women describes March sisters’ growing-up experiences which reflect the four sisters’ growing phase between adolescence and adulthood. Through the analysis, the thesis hopes the reader pay more attention to the whole women group’s initiation and improve female’s self-consciousness.
