　乌兰浩特，汉语意为“红色的城市”，也是一个美丽的草原城市。成吉思汗公园位于乌兰浩特市城北的罕山之巅，初建于1980年，原名北山公园，1987年大规模修建，改名为罕山公园，2007年修建改造，更名为成吉思汗公园，总占地面积约340公顷。

马头琴就地取材，由一株直径0.7米枯杨树雕琢而成，高6.3米，琴箱由混凝土与树干混塑成型。就其实木而言堪称马头琴之最。雕塑作者分别为寇洪文，李国华。
