关 良 1900年生于广东番禹。1917年随兄东渡日本，先后入川端研究所师从画家藤岛武二，转入“太平洋画会”师从中村不折先生学习美术。1923年毕业于东京太平洋美术学院。归国后，相继任教于上海师范学校、上海美术专科学校、广州美术学校、重庆国立艺专等。曾任上海中国画院画师、浙江美院教授、中国美术家协会理事、上海分会副主席。1957年与李可染一起赴德国友好访问，莱比锡“伊姆茵采尔”出版公司为他出版画册。“文革”后在上海举办“关良回顾展”。
Guan Liang was born in Panyu, Guangdong Province in 1900. At the age of 17, he went to Japan with his bother and studied art under the instruction of Fujishima Takeji in Kawabata Institution and later Nakamura Fusetsu in Pacific Art Association. In 1923 he graduated from Tokyo Pacific Art Academy. After return of China, he served teaching positions in Shanghai Normal School, Shanghai Art School, Guangzhou Art School and National Art Academy of Chongqing successively. He was also a professional artist in Shanghai Academy of Chinese Painting, professor of China Academy of Art, council member of China Artists Association and Vice Chairman of China Artists Association, Shanghai Branch. In 1957, he along with Li Keran, visited Germany and his book was published in Leipzig. After the Cultural Revolution, 'Retrospective of Guan Liang' was staged in Shanghai.
