than any other 后接名词用单数还是复数

China is bigger than any countries in Africa.

China is bigger than any other country in Asia.

为什么 一个是复数的，一个是单数的？

than any 后接可数名词通常用单数。如：

You’ve got more mouth on you than any woman I’ve ever known. 你是我知道的最饶舌的女人。——摘自《新牛津英语双解大词典》

She can reckon up a bill faster than any calculator. 她算账单的速度比计算器还要快。——摘自《剑桥高级英语词典》（第2版）

但后接复数也是完全可能的。如：

The national interest is more important than any sectional or personal interests. 国家利益高于局部或个人利益。——摘自《剑桥高级英语词典》（第2版）

than any other 后接可数名词通常用单数。如：

He possesses more talent than any other player. 他比别的选手都更有天赋。——摘自《新牛津英语双解大词典》

He does not think that his beliefs make him any worse than any other man. 他觉得自己的信仰并不让他比其他人更邪恶。——摘自《柯林斯Cobuild高阶英汉双解学习词典》

但用复数也是可能的，只是相对要少见得多。如下面一句摘自《朗文当代英语辞典》(2003年第4版)：
