莽山原矛头蝮 Protobothrops mangshanensis

是有鳞目,蝰蛇科的动物
就是大名鼎鼎的莽山烙铁头.

2009年，ORLOV等，通过分子生物学研究，发现原 莽山烙铁头蛇 Zhaoermia mangshanensis 属于原矛头蝮属 Protobothrops，故改名为莽山原矛头蝮 Protobothrops mangshanensis 。 参考资料：

莽山原矛头蝮 Protobothrops mangshanensis 通体黑褐色，其间杂以极小黄绿色或铁锈色点。构成极细网纹印象；背鳞一部分为黄绿色，每团约40枚鳞，占据3-5排鳞，在体侧形成若干等距的黄绿色横纹，左右横纹在背中线相接形成完整横纹或前后略交错。腹鳞除前述黑褐色背景上杂以黄绿色细点外，尚杂有若干较大，略呈三角形的黄绿色斑。头部亦为黑褐色与黄绿色组成的较对称的斑纹。尾前部色斑与躯干一致，尾后半为一致的极浅的黄绿色或几乎近于白色。瞳孔淡黄绿色。
发现过一条全长2.105米的雌蛇。
该种蛇只分布在莽山山区的森林中，垂直分布为800-1300米。可能吃鸟，鼠。
卵生，6-7月份产卵20-27枚
