　　Yet here, Laertes! aboard, aboard, for shame!               還在這兒，雷歐提斯！上船，快上船，慚愧啊！

　　The wind sits in the shoulder of your sail,                       那風兒已坐在你船帆的肩上，

　　And you are stay'd for. There; my blessing with thee!    大伙都在等你。好吧；讓我為你祝福！

　　And these few precepts in thy memory                           這兒有幾條規矩你得記住：

　　See thou character. Give thy thoughts no tongue,          瞧你這德性。開口之前先用用腦筋,

       Nor any unproportioned thought his act.                         行為要得體，凡事三思而後行。

       Be thou familiar, but by no means vulgar.                       待人要和氣，舉止切不可粗俗。

　　Those friends thou hast, and their adoption tried,         你交的那些狐朋狗黨，得提防他們的名堂，

　　Grapple them to thy soul with hoops of steel;                要用鐵腕來管教他們才能讓你稱心。

       But do not dull thy palm with entertainment                  可別等閒了你的巴掌在那些鬼把戲裡，

有幾句教訓對你來說，

務必要記在心裡，

不要想到就說，

也不要隨便想到什麼就做。

待人要和氣，但是不要輕佻。

凡是交情經過考驗的朋友們，

就該把他們緊緊地拉在身邊，

可是不要對每一個半生不熟的相識過分地去周旋。

當心跟別人吵架，

如果吵了，就要讓對手下次不敢碰你。

要多聽別人說，自己少說。

有錢可以辦貴重的衣服，

可是不要奇裝異服。

富，而不俗，

因為衣著可以看出人品。

不向人借錢，

也不借給人錢，

借出去往往是人財兩失，

借進來會讓你忘了勤儉。

首要的是，對待自己要忠實。

猶如先有白晝才有黑夜，

要這樣才能對人也忠實。
