No voice from some sublimer world hath ever                   崇高上界神秘天語從不墜於世， 

       Therefore the names of Demon, Ghost, and Heaven,    遠古至今妖言惑眾仍不絕於耳：

Remain the records of their vain endeavour:                         縱有天堂鬼神之類的名目，

Frail spells whose utter'd charm might not avail to sever,    蒼白咒語洩漏天機皆於事無補，

                From all we hear and all we see,                         人類耳聞目睹熟知的一切，

                Doubt, chance and mutability.                           無不杳杳冥冥，恍恍惚惚。

Thy light alone like mist o'er mountains driven,           唯你那靄靄的高山之嵐
