1.表示否定其一：
You can't eat your cake and have
it.（谚语）鱼和熊掌不可兼得/ 你不可能既吃蛋糕又拥有蛋糕。
2.不能做了前一个动作又做后一个动作：
Don't drink and drive.不要酒后开车。
3.表示同时：
She can't sing and
dance.她不能边唱边跳。
without food and
water要看上下文而定。一般表示否定其中的一项内容。
一般情况下and用与肯定句，or用与否定句。
但如果否定句要用and也是可以的，只是要重复否定词。
例: He has no sister 【 or 】
brother.
He has no sister 【and 】no
brother.
Don't sing 【 or】 dance.
Don't sing 【and】 don't dance.
