与剖腹产相比，顺产的女性需要输血的可能性较低，产后发生感染的风险更小，分娩后康复的速度更快。对宝宝而言，新生儿有呼吸问题的风险也相对较低。此外，剖宫产后阴道分娩的女性再次怀孕生产时，顺产的可能性更大，从而避免了多次剖腹产可能出现的风险。

但是，选择VBAC需要一定的条件支持。比如，本次妊娠的预产期距离前次剖宫产最好在18个月以上，孕妇最多有一次剖宫产史，无子宫破裂病史等。至于是否选择VBAC，记得听从医生给您的最佳建议。

Before making up your mind whether to try VBAC or not, you doctor should discuss with you the pros and cons. Your doctor needs to give you important examinations, which include ultrasonic examination to check uterine scar condition from previous cesarean section, fetal weight estimation, to confirm if you are suitable for VBAC.

Compared with caesarean section, women who have vaginal delivery are less likely to have a blood transfusion, and they have less risk of postpartum infection and can recover faster. For newborns, the risk of having breathing problems is relatively lower. In addition, women have vaginal delivery after cesarean section are more likely to have a vaginal delivery in the future, thus avoiding the risk of multiple caesarean births.

However, VBAC is not for everyone. For example, the interval between the estimated delivery date and the previous cesarean section is preferably over 19 months; the expecting mother can only have up to two cesarean sections maximum and no history of rupture of the uterus. To go with VBAC or not, there is only one rule: follow your doctor’s professional advice and guidance.
