kind用作形容词和名词的相关要点

 kind of在初中英语中是一个比较常用的表达,归纳起来,它至少有以下几种用法。

一、(1)表示种类，…kind of用于表示种类,尤其用于a kind of, this kind of, that kind of, what kind of, every kind of等结构。

如:What kind of fruit do you like best?你最喜欢哪种水果?

Not every kind of bird can fly.不是每一种鸟都能飞。

A monkey is a kind of clever animal.猴子是一种聪明的动物。

Some pupils enjoy this kind of work, some don't.有些学生喜欢这种工作,有些不喜欢。

That kind of question is difficult to answer. 那类问题难回答。

What kind of sport do you like best? 你最喜欢何种运动?

注意：…kind of / type of/pair of +名词做主语时

谓语动词的形式须依照kind，type, pair的数而确定。如：

 This pair of trousers was made by Master Li. 这条裤子是李师傅做的。

Many kinds of snakes are found in Africa.

Some kinds of food make people thirsty. 有些种类的食物使人口渴。

(2)有时用于a kind of,表示“某种”(指比较模糊的东西)。

如:He spoke with a kind of foreign accent.他说话有某种外国口音。

We have a kind of feeling that we are being followed.我们隐约感到有人在对我们盯梢。

(3)注意：kind of 可单独用，非正式用法，多用于口语，表示“有点”，后接形容词或副词：

He is kind of thin.”他有点瘦”

I feel kind of hungry.”我有点饿”

Uncle Wang speaks kind of quickly. 王叔叔说得有点快。

二. 用作形容词，意为“仁慈的”“善良的”“亲切的”，注意以下各句所搭配的介词：

The teacher is kind to [towards] us. 老师对我们很好。

It’s very kind of your brother to help us. 多谢你哥哥帮了我们的忙。

比较以下同义句型：

你这样说，真是太好了。

正：It is kind of you to say that.

正：You are kind to say that.

请你关一下门好吗?

正：Will you be kind enough to shut the door?

正：Will you be so kind as to shut the door?

熟记一些短语：

all kinds of...“各种各样的...”

many kinds of“很多种类的”

different kinds of“不同种类的” 后都加名词。

Many different kinds of meat are sold in the market. 

市场上出售各种肉.

There are all kinds of tea in the shop.
