英语倍数句型及其表达法

 

 

此类相似结构还有:倍数+比较级;倍数+what;倍数+抽象名词等。例如:

What I get is twice more than Mr Wang.

我所得比王先生多两倍。

The room is twice the size of my brother’s room.这屋子是我哥哥屋子的两倍大。

His income is ten times what I get in this area.他的收入是我在这地区收入的10倍。

Your shirt is twice the size of mine.你的衬衫是我的衬衫两倍大。

twice as far as 倍数表达法

… times as + 原级 as

… times +比较级 +than

… times + the size/ height / length / width / depth + of …

倍数+adj./adv.的比较级+ than 比……(多/大)几倍

1). 倍数+as +adj./adv.+as 是……的几倍

“A + be + 倍数 + as +形容词原级 + as + B”. 

I am twice as old as he. 我的年纪是他的两倍。

He earns twice as much as he used to. 他比往常多赚二倍的钱。

An ordinary subway train, approaching the station, can be twice as loud as the loudest jet. 发出的声音可能是喷射机的两倍。

She studies three times as hard as I. 她用功的程度是我的三倍。

This line is four times as long as that one. 这条线是那条线的四倍长。

We've produced twice as much cotton this year as ten years ago. 今年的棉花比十年前多了一倍。

He has got three times as many books as his sister. 他拥有的书的数量是他妹妹的三倍。

The road is twice as wide as that road.这条路是那条路的两倍宽。

This tree is three times as tall as that one.

Their house is about three times as big as ours. 他们的房子大约有我们房子三倍大。

This dress is twice as expensive as that one. 这件连衣裙比那件贵一倍。

Asia is four times as large as Europe.

His father is twice as old as he.

This ruler is three times as long as that one. 这把尺子是那把的三倍长。

There are four times as many students as we expected. 到的学生是我们预计的五倍。

 

在比较级前，还可以用over，more than等表示“比……倍还要多”。例如：

　　He is more than three times as rich as I. 他的财富是我的三倍还不止。

　　I am more than twice as old as he. 我的年龄是他的两倍还不止。

　　He studies more than three times as hard as I. 他用功的程度是我的三倍还不止。

　　He has collected more than three times as many stamps as I .他搜集的邮票是我的三倍还不止。

 

2). “A + be + 倍数 +形容词比较级 + than + B ”

This tree is twice taller than that one.

Asia is four times larger than Europe.

What I get is twice more than Mr Wang.我所得比王先生多两倍。

The Yangtze River is almost twice longer than the Pearl River. 长江差不多比珠江长两倍。

The number of students in our school is three times larger than that in theirs.我们学校的学生数量比他们学校的多三倍。

He runs three times faster than Jack. 他比杰克跑得快三倍。

Line A is four times the length of line B. 线条 A 是线条 B 的四倍长。

I have five times the number of Tom’s books. 我有五倍于汤姆的书。

He has three times my money. 他的钱是我的三倍。

The river is ten times the length of the Tamsui River. 这条河的长度是淡水河的十倍。

This street is four times shorter than that one. 这条街道比那条短四倍。

The mother elephant is one hundred times heavier than the baby elephant.这只母象比小象重一百倍。

It is ten times louder than another. 它比另外一个的声音大十倍。

This street is three times wider than that one. 这条街比那条街宽三倍。

I am twice older than he. 我的年纪比他大两倍。

注：若指两倍，以上各句型中的“数字+times”则应换成twice。如：

This room is twice the length of the other, but much narrower. 这个房间的长度是那个房间的两倍, 但窄得多。

=This ruler is twice longer than that one.

 

使用more...than 比较级的例句：

　　He earns five times more money than he did ten years ago. 他现在挣的钱比十年前挣的多 5 倍。

　　There are twice more students in our class than in theirs. 我们班的学生人数比他们班多两倍。

 

　　在比较级前，还可以用over，more than 等表示“比……倍还要多”。例如：

　　It was over twice the distance of the earth from the sun. 那是地球到太阳的距离的两倍多。

　　He has more than three times my money. 他的钱是我的三倍还不止。

 

3)...times＋the＋名词（size, height, weight, length, width）＋of

倍数+ the +表示长度/高度/宽度等的名词+ of是……长度/高度/宽度的几倍，此结构中常用的名词有：size, height, weight, length, width, depth等。　　下边也可看作是这种句式的变化：

 

The earth is 49 times the size of the moon. 地球的体积是月球的 49 倍。

This river is three times the depth of that one. 这条河深度是那条河的三倍。

The length of the road is four times what it was three years ago. 这条路的长度是三年前的 4 倍。

The price of the meat is twice what it was last year. 肉价是去年的两倍。

The size of the sun is a million times over that of the earth. 太阳的体积比地球的体积大一百万倍。

He is three times up on your age. 他的年龄是你的 4 倍(或：比你的年龄大 3 倍)

In this workshop the output of July was 3.5 times that of January. 七月份的产量是元月份的 3.5 倍

This tree is three times the height of that tree.

The room is twice the size of my brother’s room.这屋子是我哥哥屋子的两倍大。

Your shirt is twice the size of mine.你的衬衫是我的衬衫两倍大。

The newly broadened square is four times the size of the previous one. 新扩建的广场是未扩建时的四倍大。

4)… times + what从句

The production now is three times what it was ten years ago.

His income is ten times what I get in this area.他的收入是我在这地区收入的10倍。

　　

比较级也可使用分数、小数等数字。例如：

　　The box is one-third bigger than that one. 这个盒子比那个盒子大三分之一。

　　Last year the output value of industry was 59 percent higher than that of 1976. 去年工业产值比 1976 年增长了 59 %。

My command of English is not half so good as yours. 我英语掌握得还不及你的一半儿好。

分数的表示法

分数由基数词和序数构成——分子用基数词，分母用序数，分子超过“1”时，分母用复数：a [one] sixth(1/6), two thirds(2/3), three fifths()3/5)

【说明】(1) 1/2 通常读作 a [one] half，一般不读作a second。

2. 1/4 可读作 a [one] fourth，也可读作 a [one] quarter。

3. 分子超过“1”分母之所以用复数可以这样理解：“三分之二”即两个(two)三分之一(third)，既然是两个“三分之一”，那“三分之一”当然要用复数，即用thirds。

4. 在数学上，为了简洁起见，分子和分母均可用基数词，其间用介词over：3/4 读作three over four(对于比较复杂的分数通常采用此读法)

5. 带分数的读法：在整数与分数之间用and连接：five and two thirds

(2) This rope is three times longer than that one. 这根绳子是那根的三倍长。

(3) This rope is three times the length of that one. 这根绳子是那根的三倍长。

解析:单从用于第二句的选项看，B、D两项比较级的表达形式就不对;A项形式虽然对，却不能用来回答问题。其问句意思是:你最近工程进展如何？答:加倍进行。double是动词，意思是“使速度加倍增进”。故选C项。

(2)The house rent is expensive.I have got about half the space I had at home and I am paying ______ here.

解析:本题考查形容词的同级比较，倍数放在比较级之前，3 times as much之后省去了 as I paid at home。故选D项。
