英语学习中，我们常会遇到“be+形容词+介词短语”的结构。现就初中英语课本中的这种结构作一归纳，供同学们复习使用。

一、be +adj+of

1 be afraid of…(terrified of/ scared of/)

I'm terrified of flying I'd rather go by sea.

我害怕坐飞机--我宁愿坐船.

2 be full of…充满

3 be fond of…爱好

4 be proud of… 自豪

5 be tired of... 厌烦..

She is tired of doing her homework. 她对写作业感到很厌倦。

6 be sick of… 厌倦…

I'm sick of waiting around like this. 我腻烦像这样在一旁等著。

It makes me sick to see her being treated so badly.我看到她受到这样虐待非常愤怒。

7 be sure of… 确信…

Book early if you want to be sure of a seat.

8 be certain of…确信…

9 be short of… 缺…

10 be careful of…注意，留心

Be careful of your health

注意你的健康; 请多保重。

Be careful of the dog; it sometimes bites people.
留心那条狗，有时候咬人。

11 be ashamed of…对 ... 感到羞耻

He has done nothing to be ashamed of他从未做过亏心的事情。

As for you, you ought to be ashamed of yourself.至於你，你应该感到惭愧。

You should be ashamed of what you have done.你应为自己所做的事感到羞愧。

12 be aware of…意识到

John has been aware of having done something wrong.约翰已意识到自己做错了事情。

He made believe not to be aware of my presence.他假装不知道我在那里

I wasn't aware of that我没有意识到。

13 be confident of…信 ..., 确信 ...

I have every reason to be confident of our victory.我有充分的理由坚信胜利是属于我们的

Your encouragement made me more confident of my future.你的鼓励使我对我的未来更加有信心。

14 be worthy of… 值得的

His work is worthy of（值得）praise. 他的工作值得表扬。

二．Be +adj + with

1 be popular with 受…欢迎的

2 be angry with 生......的气 = be annoyed with

3 be busy with  忙于做…

4 be filled with  充满

5 be pleased with   对…喜欢

6 be disappointed with 对… 失望

7 be strict with sb 对某人严格

8 be satisfied with 对…满意

9 be happy with对…满意、高兴

10 be patient with 对…有耐心

You’ll have to be patient with my mother; she’s going rather deaf.

11 be covered with盖着,覆着

12 be concerned with牵涉到，与 ... 有关，参与，挂念，担心

三、 be + adj + about

1 be sorry about

2 be sure about

Are you sure about everything is OK now?

3 be worried about= be anxious about

4 be curious about…对 ... 好奇

5 be nervous about

Don’t be nervous about your exams.

be angry about 为…生气                

be anxious about 为…忧虑

be careful about 当心                      

be certain about 确信

be curious about 对…好奇              

be disappointed about 对…感到失望

be excited about 对…感到兴奋       

be glad about 对…感到高兴

be happy about 为…感到高兴         

be hopeful about 对…抱有希望

be mad about 对…入迷                   

be nervous about 为…感到不安

be particular about 对…讲究            

be sad about 为…而难过

be serious about 认真                        

be sure about 对…有把握

be worried about 为…担忧

 

四、be + adj + at

1 be good / bad at…擅长/不精通…

2 be surprised at

All of us were quite surprised at the unexpected news．我们中所有的人听到这突如其来的消息都感到很惊讶

Tom was no more surprised than (he was) disappointed at this news.汤姆听见那消息既不惊讶也不失望。

I was more disappointed than discouraged.我是失望，而不是泄气。

I was never discouraged against learning English.我从未对学习英语失去信心。

3 be amazed at…对.......感到惊讶

4 be sorry at

5 be mad at…对…非常恼火

He was mad at missing his train.

6 be angry at 因......生气= be annoyed at

 be clever at 擅长于                             

be disappointed at 对…感到失望

be expert at 在…方面是内行               

be mad at 对…发怒                            

be quick at 在…方面敏捷

be skilful at 在…方面熟练                  

 be slow at 在…方面迟钝

五、be + adj + for

1 be late for 迟到

2 be good / bad for 值得,有效

3 be / get ready for准备好

4 be / feel sorry for同情

I am /feel sorry for losing your bike.

5 be famous for因…而著

 

 

6 be known for因…而众所周知

be known as, be known for, be known to, be known in

这些都是be kown与不同介词搭配的词组。
be known as: 意为“作为......而著名”，其后的名词表示一个人的身份、职业等。

Liu Huan is known as a singer.刘欢作为一个歌手而出名。

We’re sure you’ll be well-known as an artist.我们相信你会成为一位著名的画家。
be known for: 意为“因......而著名”，其后所接内容表示某人或物的特点、特长等。

Guilin is known for her beautiful mountains and rivers.桂林因其美丽的山水而闻名。

Mr Geldof is well-known for organizing two big pop concerts on the same day.盖尔多夫先生因在同一天组织两场大型的流行音乐会而出名。

be known to: “为......所了解／知道”，其后接表示人的词语。“（人们都）知道”，其后接动词原形。

He is known to all in our village.村子里的人都了解他。

He was known to have invented many things．

＝It was known that he had invented many things.人们都知道他已经发明了很多东西。

be known in: 意为“在某地很著名”。

He is well-known in the town where he was born.他在自己出生的那个镇子上很出名。

be convenient for 对…方便                

be eager for 喝望           

be fit for 合适，适合

be good for 对…有益(方便)              

 be grateful for 感谢

be hungry for 渴望得到                     

 be late for 迟到

be necessary for 对…有必要               

be ready for 为…准备好                  

 be suitable for 对…合适(适宜)

be thankful for 因…而感激                  

be well-known for 以…出名

六、be + adj +to

1 be kind to sb

2 be good / nice / bad / friendly to sb

3 be useful /helpful /harmful / grateful / thankful to sb for sth

We are grateful to you for your gifts. 对您给予的礼物，我们不胜感激。

We were thankful for his help. 我们感谢他的帮助。

I'm thankful to know that he is safe. 得知他很安全，我感到欣慰。

4 be similar to与…相似

5 be polite to sb

I know you don't like him but be that as it may, you can at least be polite to him

我知道你不喜欢他，不过即使如此，你至少能对他有礼貌

This boy is polite to everyone

6 be rude to sb

Don't be so rude to your parents! 别对你的父母这么没礼貌！I had to make a conscious effort not to be rude to him.我得刻意约束自己不要对他粗鲁。

7 be close to接近,靠近

The church is close to the school. 教堂在学校附近。

8 be married to 与……结婚

9 be blind to视而不见

We should not be blind to（视而不见） the beauties of nature. 我们不能对大自然之美无动于衷。

10 be dear to宝贵的

Time is very dearto him. 时间对他来说很宝贵。

11 be ture to忠于生活，逼真

Your writing is very ture to life．你的作品忠实于生活。

12 get used to （doing） sth习惯于

I do not get used to the climate here yet. 我还不习惯这儿的气候。 

be accustomed to 习惯于

be familiar to 为(某人)所熟悉

The medicine is free from side effects.

May good people be free from mishaps all their lives.好人一生平安！

4 be absent from缺席

 He was absent from the class yesterday.     

be far from 离…远，远远不                

be safe from 没有…的危险                  

be tired from 因…而疲劳

 

八、be + adj+in

1 be interested in对…感兴趣

2 be weak in差,不擅长于…

3 be strong in擅长

4 be similar in在…方面类似

5 be successful in在…上成功

6 be strict in  严于做

He is strict in his work. 他工作严谨。

7 be rich in 富于,富有

8 be poor in

Mars is too dry and poor in oxygen.火星上面过于干燥，并且缺乏氧气。

Everyone is weary: the poor in seeking, the rich in keeping, the good in learning.

人人都在奔忙：穷人寻求，富人守财，好人学习。

9 be dressed in 穿着......

He was dressed in a pair of black trousers.

The girl was dressed in brown from top to toe.

10 be experienced in有…的经验

She is very experienced in teaching English. 她英语教学的经验很丰富。

be concerned in 与…有关                  

 be disappointed in 对(某人)感到失望

be engaged in 从事于，忙于                

be experienced in 在…方面有经验

be expert in 在…方面是行家                

be fortunate in 在…方面幸运

be honest in 在…方面诚实                   

be interested in 对…感兴趣

be lacking in 缺乏
