教学设

Teaching Aims:

1.      Enable the students to get some information of Yuan Longping and his great achievements;

2.      Help the students to form good reading habits and master some key reading skills;

3.      Ask the students to form the spirit of interaction and cooperation.

Teaching important and difficult points:

1.      Help the students to master some reading skills;

2.      How to enable the students to learn about more information;

3.      Encourage the students to discuss and read actively.

Teaching methods:

1.      Discussion and cooperation; 2. Task-based learning;3. Pair-work and group-work

Teaching aids:

1.      Courseware;    2. Pictures;    3. Blackboard.

Teaching procedures:

Step 1: Greetings and leading-in:

Ask students to look at the some pictures and learn about the main topic of this unit. Use the poem“ The Peasant’s lot”《悯农》 to show the hard work of farmers. Tell the Ss to cherish(珍惜)the food

Step 2 Reading and Comprehending:

1. What is the passage about?

It’s about A Pioneer for all People—Yuan Longping.

2. Skimming

Match the following headings(标题)to each paragraph.(连线)

First ask the Ss to do it individually and then do pair work to discuss. Then ask some Ss to share their opinions.

3. Careful reading
(1).Personal information

First ask the Ss to do it individually, then do group-work to discuss and ask some Ss to write their answers on the blackboard, and discuss together.

(2). Put the following sentences in right order. 

a. He was born into a poor farmer’s family .                                     b. He graduated from Southwest Agriculture college.                                                                                     c. Chinese farmers  produced fifty million tons of rice.                                                                                        d. He became the first agricultural pioneer                                                                                 e. He searched for a way to increase rice outputs without expanding the area of fields.                                                       f. He helps rid the world of hunger by circulating his knowledge in less developed     countries.

First ask the Ss to find the sentences in the passage and put down their time, then compare them and get the right answer.  a c b e d f

   A. The more, the better;      

   B. Too much will cause a lot of troubles;

C.  He would rather work than lead a comfortable life.

(4). Dr Yuan’s Dreams

a.To produce a kind of rice that could feed more people;

b. To export his rice so that it can be grown all over the world.

Step 3 Talk bar (说说吧).::

What do you think would happen if tomorrow there was suddenly no rice to eat?

If that happened, people there would suffer from starvation and the whole country would get into trouble.

Discussion:What is happening to these people?

Do you want to end the famine(饥荒)in the world ?If you had the chance to do something to help end hunger in the world, what would you do ?

The measures taken to deal with hunger:

Invent a new kind of plant to produce more food.

Find a sort of fertilizer to give rice enough nutrition.

Stop the pollution to the environment and protect the soil in the field.

Step 4 Summary and Homework

Suppose you were Yuan Longping  , please write a short passage to introduce yourself
(less than 150 words).

Teaching Reflection(教学反思):

1、  以学生为中心组织阅读教学;

2、  任务型教学方法运用得当;

3、  学生阅读能力得到锻炼和提升。

学实

1、在教学中很少使用汉语,全英文教学,部分学生跟不上课堂节奏;

2、在教学中,结合黑白版,课件和课本相结合的组织教学;

3、学生选择判断题可以完成,但英文总结表达能力偏差。

4、小组讨论,有一部分同学走了过程,未能真正参与,要改近措施争取有效性得到提高。

同伴建

1、本节课紧扣高考要求,教师做到了认真备课,上课态度认真负责;

2、教师上课一直精神饱满、充满激情,课堂气氛活跃;

3、板书多且整齐美观,重难点突出,训练得当,教学中能大胆的放手,把说,做的机会留给学生,教师充分地发挥了学生的主体地位;

4、建议:在新课改的环境下探索怎样提高差生的应试能力;课堂容量大,节奏快,基础差的学生能否跟得上。

 

教学反思与改进设想

教学反思:

1、学生学习状态比较好,学生的各个方面的能力相对较强。课堂主要激发了

学生的兴趣,为教学创设了相关的环境,活跃了学生和课堂。充分发挥了学生的主观能动性。

2、课堂备课充分,教学目标明确,学生能力得到锻炼;

3、注重学习方法指导,教学设计有的放矢。

改进设想:

1、学生基础参差不齐,要在分层教学,因材施教上下功夫;

2、新课程要求以学生为中心组织教学,需要更加充分调动学生积极性,主动

参与课堂;

3、学生主动阅读、主动探索的学习态度需要加强。
