doubt 指对其后所述的事实表示“怀疑、不相信”。后面可接名词或代词作其宾语；也可接宾语从句。接从句时，其肯定句接whether或if引起的从句；否定句和疑问句则接that引起的从句。如：
I doubt if he will come．
我担心他不会来了。
Do you doubt that he will come？
你怀疑他会来吗？
I don’t doubt that it will rain today.
我相信今天会下雨。
wonder表达“感到奇怪”这一意义时，其后接that从句、不定式及介词短语等；当表达“想知道”这一意义时，其后接if或whether，还有why，when，where等词引起的从句。如：
Can you wonder that she speaks French so well？
她法语讲得这么好，你觉得奇怪吗？
I wonder whether he has come．
我想知道他来了没有。
We wonder why he was against the plan．
我们想知道他为什么反对这个计划。
