Analysis of teaching material 

Reading comprehension plays the most important role in the senior high school entrance examination. Students should keep certain amount of reading according to their own situation every day. Reading training must be connected intensive reading with extensive reading. The style, length, quantity of new words of the reading material should be close to the examination.

Analysis of the students 

The students of Grade 9 are generally having problem of poor vocabulary. What’s more, they lack of methods. But in the reading comprehension, students need to read four passages. The test time is limited. It will cause them to get low marks. So in the preparation before entrance examination, students need to pay attention to the skills, methods and steps about reading comprehension and improve their reading ability.

Knowledge objective   

1. Students will get to know the four types of questions in reading comprehension.

2. Students use the skills, methods and steps about reading comprehension.

Students will be able to improve the speed and accuracy in reading comprehension.
