一.两者均可以表示将来的意图，但是，be going to结构语意稍强。
如：
I'm going to/will climb that mountain one day.
我准备/想将来某一天爬那座山。
二.be going
to表示经过事先考虑的打算、计划、意图。
如：
--Why are you taking down all the pictures?
--I am going to repaint the wall.
你为何取下所有的画？我打算再粉刷一下墙。
三.对于事先未经考虑的打算、计划，而是临时起意，则用will/shall结构。此结构常用于会话时，乙听了甲的话之后作出的反应。
如：
--Where is the telephone book？
--I will go and get it for you.
电话号码簿在哪儿？我去给你拿。
四.在表示即将发生某事时，两者区别意义不大，常可互换。
如：
What is going to happen?
What will happen?
【注意】表有某种迹象时，用be going to结构
如：It's going to rain.要下雨了。
五.在含有条件（时间）状语的复合句中，主句一般用will/shall,而不用be
going to 结构。
如：
If it rains tomorrow,we'll stay at home.如果明天下雨，我们就呆在家里。
而在条件（时间）状语从句中，不能用will/shall表示将来，但可以使用be going to结构。
如：
If you are going to play football this afternoon,you'd better
wear your sports shoes.
如果今天下午你打算踢球的话，最好穿运动鞋。
六.表示不受人的主观意愿影响的单纯的将来，一般只用will结构。
如：Tomorrow will be Teachers' Day.明天是教师节。
七.在正式的通知中多用will结构。
如：
Where will be a strong wind to the north of the Huai
River.淮河以北有大风。
