Yes. Week after week we meet up at

of you who write us.
Wen-Jie, I have known you for many years now, and I’ve never seen you get angry.
You mean, when you are at home you are a different person?
So, whom do get angry the most?
Then does Stephen think you a mean mom?
Do you yell at Stephen?
So, you are not a tiger mom?

I wonder Wen-Jie, what is the Chinese way of raising children?
And children are to follow the rules and obey parents.
I am sure most of these concerns relate to grades and academic achievement.
I know in the States, many Chinese children are good at Math and Music.
No wonder. For us, our children choose to do activities like sports, drama and etc.
And we allow our children to choose what they want to be involved in.
I guess so. We encourage children to be independent in thinking and learning skills.

Your children need your presence
more than your presents.

you.
So Wen-Jie, do you raise your children the Chinese way?
A mixture of both.
That’s interesting. What’s the big difference for you?
Really? Then, it’s pretty tough growing up.
So, you have survived. (Yes.) Well for us, We tend to praise and compliment our children to help them to grow.
We want to build up children’s self- esteem.

Well, I’m sure both ways have strength and weakness.
What do you think, listener friends?
Which way would you prefer to raise your kids?
Listener friends, today we’re
talking about
We discussed some differences in Chinese and Western ways of raising children.
Do you ever
wonder:
Wen-Jie, both of us are parents. You
are from the East.
But we both value more what Bible teaches about parenthood.
Here’s one.
Verse For
life
Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.
你们作儿女的、要凡事听从父母、因为这是主所喜悦的。
Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged.
你们作父亲的、不要惹儿女的气、恐怕他们失了志气。
