郎世宁(Giuseppe Castiglione)意大利人,清康熙帝五十四年作为天主教耶稣会的修道士来中国传教,受到康熙的礼遇,便入宫成为宫廷画家,还曾参与圆明园西洋楼的设计工作,历任康、雍、乾三朝。
Giuseppe Castiglione, an Italian who came to China to do missionary work as a friar of the Society of Jesus in the 54th year of emperor Kangxi’s reign in the Qing Dynasty, got courteous reception by emperor Kangxi. So he entered the palace and became court painter and once participated in the design of European Palaces in the Old Summer Palace. He was an official in the reign of emperor Kangxi, emperor Yongzheng and emperor Qianlong.
郎世宁几乎什么都画,人物、风景、战争、历史、花鸟、年节等,但最主要的还是记录皇帝的活动。在绘画创作中,郎世宁融中西技法于一体,形成精细逼真的效果,创造出了新的画风,因而深受康熙、雍正、乾隆器重。
Giuseppe Castiglione drew almost everything including figures, scenery, wars, history, flowers and birds and festivals etc. But the leading is to record activities of the emperor. In his painting, he combined the painting skills of both the west and the east to form vivid effects and create a new painting style, as was thought highly of by emperor Kangxi, emperor Yongzheng and emperor Qianlong.
郎世宁本来是想要漂洋过海来传教,却画了一辈子的画。他用手中笔,将西方艺术技法带入中国宫廷,并将其与中国的美学融会贯通,形成一种全新的体系,甚至在某种程度上影响了中国美术的发展。
Giuseppe Castiglione intended to preach in China, but actually paint all his life. He brought western artistic skills to the palace of China using his brushes, moreover, fused these skills with Chinese aesthetics and formed a brand new system. In a way he influenced the development of Chinese fine art.
他画出了大清王朝最后的恢弘时代,也画出了东西方互学互鉴的历史。
He drew the final grand era of the Qing
Dynasty and the history of mutual learning and mutual reference
between the east and the west as well.
