Hero in my mind

  In my opinion, Liu Xiang is a hero in my mind.

  Liu Xiang, a common athlete from Shanghai, China, let the world know him in 2004.He won the gold medal in Athens Olympics in 110-metre hurdles .This was the first time for a person from Asia to win this game. Many foreigners were surprised at his perfect performance and many Chinese were proud of him. All people in China, even in Asia regarded him as a hero.

   The next four years, Liu Xiang won almost all the games that he took part in. He even broke the world record on July 11^th, 2006.This made everyone look forward to seeing his performance in2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.

   However, when he was influential at that time, the injury came quietly. His left had problems, but he still insisted on playing. Everyone could see the pain in his face. They were very anxious. At last, he chose to retire and went out of the Bird Nest.

  Many people thought injury was going to ruin Liu Xiang’s occupation career, but he didn’t think so. He actively rehabilitated. Two years later, he returned. To everyone’s surprise, he won silver medal in 2011 World Championship in Daegu. He told everyone he had come back.

   I regarded him as the hero in my mind because of his perfect skill and persistence. This helps him have great success. And I’m moved because of this. I’ll learn from him in my study.

   The speed of Liu Xiang is fast enough to let people all over the world surprised, so I’m sure Liu Xiang is the hero in my mind.
