Describe your favorite sport

You should say:

How often you play or watch this sport

How you began to like it

Explain why you prefer this sport to other groups

And what the rules of playing this sport are.

Aaron 提示:此话题可转变为另外两个话题1. A dangerous sport , you should say: what it is, who does this kind of sport, if you have ever done this sport and explain why people do this kind of sport.

2. A hobby you particularly enjoy

You should say: what this interest or hobby is , how long you have been doing it, what effect it has brought to your life and what you think about the balance between work and leisure activities.

Sample: Well , I am happy to tell you about the sport that I like most.

To be honest, I am keen on playing badminton.

Whenever I have time, I will invite my friends to go to a gym near my apartment or just play the sport in any open ground available. Sometimes, I do the sport once a or twice a week.

 Well, let me tell you how I began to like it. To be honest, I can’t exactly remember when I began to be fond of the sport. I think I could have started loving it when I was in high school. Then , I felt it was pretty exciting because I would have fun with my friends.

 Compared with other sports, I prefer to badminton for various reasons.

       On one hand, it is an easy sport. You can play almost everywhere if you like and you don’t need many partners.

       One the other hand, it works your whole body including blood circulation and lung functions especially the upper arms and the legs.

      In terms of rules, there are a number of laws in badminton. For example,

       Rule No. 1: A badminton match starts with a coin toss. The winner picks her/his half court and serves;

       Rule No.2: you serve( 发球) to the part of the court that is diagonally opposite you;

       Rule No. 3: when serving, you must strike the cork of the shuttle(羽毛球);

       Rule No.4 : Games end when one player scores 21 points first.

Part III :

Q 1: Do you think it is one of the responsibilities of government to provide sports facilities for the public? Why or why not?

Sample: Absolutely. I guess the government should be under obligation(有义务) to provide sports facilities. The overall health(整体健康水平) of citizens concerns the future of a country and it also shows social development of that country. Any one individual can not has as many resources as a country has.

Q2: What dangerous sports do you know?

SampleWell, as far as I know, the adventurous sports include surfing, scuba diving(深海潜水), swimming. These are all water-related activities.

        Other dangerous sports include bungee jumping(蹦极), skydiving(跳伞), rock climbing(攀岩) and boxing.

Q 3: Why do people like to watch sports on TV?

Sample: I think watching sports on TV does not cost a lot of money. We do need to buy any entrance tickets, which might be very, very expensive.

     On the other hand, watching sports on TV is safer than at the stadium because after football games, sometimes there are some riots among the fans in the stadium or on the street. It has been reported that some people died in Italy and the UK because of such riots.

Q 4 Do you think playing too many sports is harmful? Why?

Sample Yes I think so.

         I guess everything has a limit.

         Doing sports too much could be harmful to health and players won’t feel comfortable. Some hazards(危险) could be long-term and serious.

        It is a tragedy that Bruce Lee died young because of his internal energy had been perhaps consumed up(消耗贻尽).
