How to let the students think while doing

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. I come from Nan Yangjia zhuang  primary school .I’m glad to stand here. My topic is how to let the students think while doing .

Since I became an English teacher, I study harder and harder. I try my best to teach my students well. Because I want my students love me ,love my class, love speaking English.

Many people consider that learning English by rote. But I think we should let students think while doing . So that they can learn English well.  But how to do?  I have been making efforts to explore effective ways . I concluded from the practice that teaching method design is the most important. It can let the students think while doing.

Now I’d like to share one example with you!

When we learned “What’s your hobby?  I like…”, after they did the dialogue well, for consolidation and extension, I designed a practice activity. I invited four students to come to the front of the classroom. First ,I asked two students make the dialogue of the class. “What’s your hobby?  I like collecting stamps. What’s your hobby?  I like drawing pictures” Then I asked the other two students to make a dialogue according to the first dialogue like this, “What’s his hobby? He likes collecting stamps. What’s her hobby? She likes drawing pictures.” The students liked the practice very much.  They all wanted to have a try. So we practiced like that for a while.

 When they felt a little boring, I increased the difficulty of the practice. I asked them to do a dialogue like this , “ What’s your hobby? What’s your father’s hobby? What’s your mother’s hobby?” Then other students made dialogue according to the new dialogue, “ What’s her hobby? What’s her father’s hobby? What’s her mother’s hobby” They interested in the practice again.

I’m very happy that their passion lasted to the end of the class. My students like the practice so much. I think because they like thinking while doing.

As we know, as a teacher, we must be meticulous in design, we must control the class freely, we must enrich our knowledge and improve our ability. I’m sure I can do a good job in my class. Do you believe me?
