重复法Repetition：

■重复名词名词做宾语：

1. Let us revise our safety and sanitary.

让我们来修订安全规则和卫生规则。（sanitary是卫生，卫生清洁工有sanitation workers，不要用条例，有点像legislation）

2. They began to study and analyze the situation of the enemy.

他们开始研究敌情，分析敌情。

■重复英语里做表语的名词

1. He became an oil baron – all by himself.

他成为了一个石油大亨，一个白手起家的石油大亨。（白手起家可以说from rags to riches/大人物：big banana，媒体大亨鲁珀特·默多克，杨伟光，欧阳常林big tycoon，kingpin主要人物，不要什么都是king of the..）

2. This has been our position –but not theirs.

这一直是我们的立场，不是他们的立场。

■   重复前置短语所省略的名词：

1. The doctor will get more practice out of me than (the doctor) out of seventeen hundred ordinary patients.（这就是跟大家讲过的translation procedure里的Grammar is not dead，学会把省略的成分给加上去）

医生从我们身上得到的实践比从1700个人身上得到的实践还要多。

2. May I extend my heartiest congratulation to the great Chinese people and its Communist Party, through you, for the glowing success of your tremendous revolutions（伟大的革命）, （this success）which is now inspiring the world.（communist这个单词的重音在前面，而unique这个单词重音在中间，I am eunuch, you are eunuch, we are both eunuch.是太监的意思，所以读音一定要准确）

3. Water can be decomposed by energy, a current of electricity.（decompose表示化学分解的意思，古代有一种刑罚，车裂叫dismember，或者quarter。有时候开玩笑：You’ll be quartered！你会被尸解）水可以被能量分解，这种能量是电流。（大家喜欢化学么，喜欢理科么，natural science/literal art，如果要形容一个人读书很多，是个书呆子：blue stocking）

4. The blow hurt not only his hand but his shoulder too.

上了手，也伤了肩。

■   重复物主代词：

1. Happy family also had their own troubles.

幸福家庭也有幸福家庭的苦恼。

2. Each country has its own customs.各国有各国的风俗。

■   强势关系副词：

Where severe oppression existed, there would be revolution.（琼瑶体：哪里有惨无人道的酸楚，哪里就有揭竿而起的反抗<琼瑶体>）

■其他重复需要：

为了强调一些表达，修辞，主观的东西

1.     He wandered about in the chill rain, thinking and thinking, brooding and brooding.

（wander这个单词，有点像wonder，wandering and wondering，一边瞎逛，一边瞎想；这里有一个介词about，不知道大家做这么完形填空，选词填空，1.about（空间方位，方位） 2.up（1.声音调大2.光，吃光） 3.out（有水落石出的结果，turn out）所以英语介词也是有规律的，大家可以多多总结，对以后考试很有帮助）

他在冷雨中荡来荡去，想了又想，盘算又盘算。（余光中：听听那冷雨前尘隔海。古屋不再，骏马秋风塞北，杏花春雨江南；年年岁岁花相似，岁岁年年人不同）

2.     Blood must atone for blood. （血债血还atone救赎，有一部电影atonement）

■   为了生动：

Like all of you, I was shocked and saddened by the deaths of several young people who were bullied and taunted for being gay and ultimately took their own lives. As a parent of two daughters, it breaks my heart. It’s something that shouldn’t happen in this country. We’ve got to dispel the myth that bullying is just a normal rite of passage-that is some inevitable part of grown up. It’s not. We have an obligation to ensure that that our schools are safe for ALL of our kids.
