Panama City, Fla. (Feb. 28, 2012) The research and development vessel R/V Sea Fighter (FSF-1), an advanced technology demonstrator operated by the Office of Naval Research, returns to its homeport of Panama City, Fla., after four months in the Mobile, Ala., shipyard. Sea Fighter is used to evaluate the hydrodynamic performance, structural behavior, mission flexibility, and propulsion system efficiency of high-speed vessels at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division.
