      NFD reports on India International Jewellery Week (IIJW) 2011, held in Mumbai, where the country's top jewellery houses and independent designers showed off their latest designs.

在为期4天的时间里，本次发布会举行了30场珠宝首饰走秀，向我们展示了为什么印度在珠宝首饰设计中处于世界领先的地位，整个过程中还包含了现代首饰和传统首饰的大量优秀作品。
      Over four days and 30 catwalk shows, India showed why it is a world leader in precious gems and jewellery design, with an impressive show of contemporary and traditional pieces.

1. 在传统设计中融入现代设计细节元素，色彩则是整组作品中的关键要素。宝石、珍贵的金属和釉质颜料将传统拉贾斯坦邦首饰和五彩斑斓的彩色饰品结合起来。
   Presenting traditional designs with contemporary detailing, colour was a key feature of this collection. Gems, precious metals and enamel pigments were used to fuse the traditional Rajasthan jewellery with colourful minakari work.
2. 作品的设计主题是令人心醉的花园和美丽天堂。花朵和树木用红宝石、祖母绿和蓝宝石来描绘。主要款式包括耳环、手镯、手链、项链和戒指等，每一件作品都重点突出手工艺元素，单件都需要花费4-6个月的时间来完成制作。
   The theme of the collection was the enchanted garden and the Mughal vision of paradise. Flowers and trees were depicted with rubies, emeralds and sapphires. The collection featured earrings, cuffs, bracelets, necklaces and rings, which were handcrafted - each piece taking four to six months to make.
