早就知道这里的小山雀会向游人讨吃的，这次看到cardinal也飞到游人手上，便伸出手来试试，结果居然招来啄木鸟到脑门上来敲一敲，哈哈!

六月正是各种动物繁殖的季节，天鹅们(muted swan)对宝宝的管教比较严格，宝宝们不会乱跑。

各种鸟类用不同的方式保护自己的娃。这种 red-winged black bird非常勇敢，经常看到它们对那些接近鸟巢的鸟群起而攻之。即便是面对turkey vaulture或老鹰这样的大鸟也无所畏惧，经常一直把它们赶出很远才返回。

而这种killdeer又是采取另一种方法来保护巢中的蛋，它们会以叫声吸引敌人的注意，装着受伤的样子朝另一方向一颠一簸而去，把敌人引走。

等敌人走后，再回到巢中继续孵蛋。

乌龟们似乎产蛋后就不管了。为了不让小动物们把这些蛋吃掉，保护区提供的这些带网的盒子和操作说明，希望游人看到乌龟产蛋后给盖起来。据说这样可以减小浣熊偷蛋的机会。但我总觉得浣熊太聪明了，怀疑这些小网子能否发挥效力。

六月的沙路上确实多了不少坑，不知道有多少能真有小乌龟孵出来。

偶尔还会有一些稀罕的鸟露面，比如这一群群的whimbrels，飞过时带着哨鸽一样的声音。这么弯弯长长的嘴巴，不知道对飞行有啥影响。上次我们还是跑到point pelee才看到呢。

虽然这里没有什么特殊的景色，但芦苇丛丛的沼泽，野花围绕的小路，湖边沙滩和周围的小生物都让这近郊的保护区成为我们平常休闲的好去处。
